Students Celebrate Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Success at Buckingham Palace

Radnor House Sevenoaks students were honoured to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award Celebration Morning at Buckingham Palace, joining fellow Gold Award recipients from across the country to celebrate this exceptional achievement.

The Gold Award is the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and represents a significant commitment over an extended period. To achieve it, participants must complete volunteering, physical and skills-based activities, undertake challenging expeditions and take part in a residential experience with people they have not previously met. Throughout the programme, students develop resilience, independence, leadership and teamwork while pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.

The celebration at Buckingham Palace provided a fitting opportunity to recognise the accomplishments of young people who have successfully completed the Award. Students enjoyed exploring the palace gardens, meeting fellow Gold Award holders and taking part in a memorable morning of celebration.

A highlight of the event was hearing from a range of inspiring speakers, including His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh. His address reflected on the value of the Award in helping young people develop the confidence, character and life skills that will support them long after they leave school.

We are incredibly proud of our nine students for reaching this remarkable milestone. Their dedication, perseverance and willingness to embrace challenge embody the spirit of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and reflect many of the qualities we seek to nurture at Radnor House Sevenoaks.

Congratulations to Louis, Daniel, Thomas, Oliver, Sophia, Harry, Benjamin, Charles and Oscar, on this outstanding accomplishment.
