Climbing Higher Together: Year 12 at Blacklands Farm

Our Year 12 students began their Sixth Form journey with an energetic and rewarding team-building day at Blackland Farm - an experience designed to strengthen friendships, encourage collaboration and build the resilience needed for the year ahead.

Despite the persistent rain, students threw themselves wholeheartedly into each challenge. From tackling the high ropes and scaling ladders and trees to pairing up for the thrilling "Crate challenge” - where teams built towering stacks of crates before taking a safe tumble in their harnesses. The day was filled with courage, laughter plenty of and determination!

The adventure continued with lively group games of sardines and cops and robbers, bringing plenty of fun and teamwork to the mix. Whether supporting a partner on the ropes, cheering on classmates, or sharing in the inevitable wobbles and triumphs of the activities, students showed the qualities that underpin life at Radnor: courage, perseverance, respect, and excellence.

This first step into Sixth Form life gave Year 12 the perfect opportunity to grow as a year group, challenge themselves and embrace new experiences together. It allows students to spend time with others beyond their social circles and the chance to forge new friendships. As they now settle into the academic term, the friendships and memories forged at Blackland Farm will serve as a strong foundation for all that lies ahead.
