Year 9 Team-Building Adventure at Carroty Wood
At the start of term, our Year 9 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable two-night residential stay at Carroty Wood, packed with challenge, teamwork, and plenty of fun.
On arrival, the excitement began straight away as rooms were revealed, and groups settled in before heading out to their first activities. Across the three days, pupils took part in a wide range of adventurous challenges designed to build resilience, confidence and collaboration. Highlights included the Great Escape, low ropes, high ropes and abseiling — all of which encouraged pupils to step outside their comfort zones and support one another.
Meals provided the perfect opportunity to refuel and relax after busy days of activity. From the first evening’s roast chicken dinner to the final breakfast, pupils enjoyed hearty food together, strengthening the sense of camaraderie and community.
Day two was a full programme from start to finish. After an early breakfast, groups faced their fears on the high ropes, testing both nerve and teamwork as they climbed, balanced and encouraged each other through every challenge. Later, pupils headed to the pool for a well-earned swim, before rounding off the day with a lively game of bingo and another delicious evening meal.
The trip was not only action-packed but also a valuable opportunity for Year 9 pupils to develop friendships, leadership skills and teamwork as they settle into the new school year.
We are incredibly proud of the way our pupils embraced every challenge at Carroty Wood. Their positivity, perseverance and support for one another reflected the very best of our school values and made the trip a memorable success.
