Record-Breaking LAMDA Success for Radnor House Students
Radnor House Sevenoaks is celebrating outstanding success of Senior Speech and Drama students, who have achieved record-breaking results in their recent LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations - the best in Radnor House Sevenoaks history.
LAMDA is one of the UK’s most respected performance and communication awarding bodies, with over 110,000 learners participating worldwide each year. Students attaining Grades 6 -8 have also earned UCAS points which can be used for university applications.
In our latest exam cohort, 26 Radnor House students from Years 8 to 11 took part, sitting exams ranging from Grade 2 to Grade 7. Twenty-three students were examined here at school, while three students - including two in Year 11 - sat their exams at an external centre in April to accommodate their upcoming GCSEs.
The results are outstanding: a 100% pass rate, all with merits and distinctions, and an impressive 89% achieving distinction level. Henry and James, both in Year 10, each scored an exceptional 90 out of 100 marks!
Miss Barradell, Director of Performing Arts, commented on the incredible set of results "These outstanding results are a true reflection of our speech and drama provision - rigorous, focused, and passionately delivered. It’s a programme that truly engages our young people and inspires them to aim high. I couldn’t be prouder of our students for stepping up, taking centre stage with confidence, and achieving such incredible success."
The hard work and dedication shown by our students have been exceptional; from learning complex scripts and mastering viva questions to preparing costumes and props. Congratulations to the students and Performing Arts staff on their amazing achievement.
