Call for Parent Volunteers for Network Evening Careers Event: Thursday 7 March from 6.30pm to 8pm

We are holding our annual Network Evening Careers Event for our Year 10 - 13 students.  The aim of the evening is for our students to meet parent volunteers who have (or who have had) a professional role and discuss with them their careers either specifically or in general, how they achieved this career and key advice for the next few years.  This way they will gain further advice and guidance on a wide variety of careers and pathways they may experience, careers that they might not be aware of, the need to be aspirational, to take risks, but also be flexible whilst at the same time developing the skill of networking and their confidence.  Parent volunteers do not have to prepare anything specifically for the evening (though we will ask for a short pen picture of your career that we will share with the students in advance), and it is meant to be an informal event to allow the students and parents to mix and to aid several conversations throughout the evening.

We are still looking for additional parental volunteers, so please support this event if you can.  The Network Evening supports the in-school PSHEE sessions where Careers is delivered, the use of online resources that help guide our students and works towards the work experience opportunity that the students have in Years 11 and 12.  All parents are therefore welcome to assist and many thanks to those parents who have already committed to supporting this important aspect of our Careers Programme.  If you are able to support this event please email so that we can send you further information.  Many thanks and kindest regards Mr D Leddington - Head of Sixth Form

DocsPlus Training for Parents

DocsPlus is a new software package provided to some of our students to support their studies, but exam access arrangements in particular.  Information on how to access this software was provided to these students before the Christmas break.  I would like to invite you, as parents, to attend an information and training session on February 26 from 4.15p.m until 5.15p.m in Room ICT A, located in the Senior School.  The aim would be to have some "hands-on" time to demonstrate the benefits and features of DocsPlus.  If you have any questions then please do get in touch via . I'm looking forward to sharing this super software with you. Min Hancock

When should I learn to touch type? The answer is of course, as soon as possible!

Many of our students use laptops in their daily lessons and many will use them for their exams.  Being able to touch type is an essential skill for these students, but also a fantastic skill for university, work and life in general for everyone.  Contact Susie Pepper on to book a place in one of the two weekly sessions of touch typing tuition running at school.

Wrap Care

Unless in the case of an extreme emergency, please be advised that Wrap Care is at full capacity and spaces cannot be booked now until the new Clubs are released at the end of this term in readiness for next term.

Radnor House Charity Golf Day

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in taking part in the Radnor Charity Golf Day taking place on Sunday 23 June at Westerham Golf Club. We now have all 60 spaces filled and even have names on a reserve list.

Letters will be going out to all of those who have expressed an interest so far, asking them to pay for their contribution to the day - £70 for adults and £50 for juniors. This price includes breakfast, golf and a two course meal afterwards with a proportion of the money raised going to the school's national charity, the RSPCA.

Please could I ask that you fill in your details on the letter as soon as possible and return this to the Prep Office before 22 March so I can guarantee your place. Any remaining places after this time will be offered to those on the reserve list on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have any questions or would like to be placed on the reserve list for a place on the day, please contact Mr Woodward (

House Charities

During the next half term, the Senior School Students will be having a house assembly with their chosen charity.  It would be wonderful if they could have a think about how they might raise money for their charity. Any money raised, no matter how small, will be recorded in a shared bar chart showing progress by house.  There will be a prize of a 'CRAZY HAIR DAY' for the winning house at the end of term. More information to follow in the house assembly on the morning of 27 February.  Please see the poster attached showing which local charities the houses support.

We hope you will enjoy coming up with some great ideas to support your house charity.

Combe Bank Drive Mini Roundabout

It has been brought to our attention that when leaving there are a number of parents ignoring the roundabout at the top of the drive which has nearly caused three or four accidents.  The roundabout should be treated the same as any other, and drivers should give way to vehicles coming from the right.  In the mornings teachers will be turning right into the staff car park so parents exiting from the visitors car park should be giving way to them. At the moment there are a number of drivers who are not.  To avoid potential accidents please adhere to the rules of the road as written in the highway code and give way.

Car Park Drop off Zone

Despite previous requests we still have a number of parents who are not just “dropping off”.  Please can we ask that if you want to catch up with other parents or spend time saying goodbye to your child that you park in a designated bay.  It is extremely frustrating to those who simply want to drop and go and it causes congestion.  We have also been asked to remind you that the zig zag areas are no parking zones and are there for safety reasons.
