Year 11 Mock Results
Pupils will receive their exam results in the library on Wednesday 6 February at 10.40am in exactly the same way as they will receive their exam results in August. A copy of the results will be emailed to Parents via “in-touch” at noon, prior to Parents’ Evening which takes place on 12 February. This Parents’ Evening is an important opportunity to discuss the mock results and targets for improvement with the subject teachers so please make a note of the date in your diary.
Year 11 Parents' Evening - Tuesday 12 February
The booking system for the Year 11 Parents' Evening is now open. You will receive a confirmation email once your appointments are booked. It is expected that students will attend the evening with their parents.
For those pupils who receive Study Support or who use a word processor in exams, Mrs Hancock will be available to demonstrate DocsPlus.
Class Rep Meeting
Please find attached the minutes from last week's Class Rep Meeting.
T20 Lecture - Monday 4 February
Our second lecture in this series will be delivered on Monday 4 February at 1:30pm in the Senior School Hall. Mr Penlington will be speaking on the impact of maths and science on Renaissance art. There will be a follow-up tutorial on Monday 11 February also with Mr Penlington.
This lecture series, which will cover various topics, is an ideal way for students to stretch themselves and to get some insight into university style lectures and tutorials at the 'Top 20' universities.
All students are welcome.
We would like to reinforce that all pupils in Years 7 and 8 must sign up to at least three clubs, and all pupils in Years 9-13 must sign up to two. Sign up on SOCs remains open. Please can you ensure that your child(ren) have signed up to at least the minimum number of clubs by Monday 4 February.
Once signed up, it is expected that pupils attend. While we appreciate that school is busy and that last minute clashes can occur, we still expect the pupils to demonstrate respect to the teacher leading the activity and letting them know in advance if they cannot attend.
Safer Internet Week 2019
Safer Internet Day 2019 will take place on Tuesday 5 February with the theme ‘Together for a better internet'. During the week commencing 4 February, pupils in the Prep and Senior school will have targeted assemblies, computing and PSHEE sessions to raise awareness and share advice on how to be positive, safe and respectful online.
Successful online safety involves the whole family and safer internet week is a fantastic opportunity to have a conversation with children about using the internet safely, responsibly and positively. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, foster carer, aunt, uncle or older sibling – we can all play a role in empowering young people to enjoy their time online.
We have put together a pack of information to help support online safety conversations at home and will be tweeting links and updates throughout the week.
Many of the ideas and resources that we will be promoting this week have been taken from the UK Safer Internet centre website. This website has a huge amount of useful content for parents and carers so please do take a look online.

One of the topics discussed at the seminar was issue of monitoring pupil devices. There are now a number of apps and software providers that can help parents take back control and guide their child's internet use.
Apps that we are aware of:
Family Link app - works on Android devices:
Qustodio - works on Apple and Android devices
Our Pact - works on Apple and Android devices

Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
Year 8 Coffee Morning - Monday 4 February 8.30am-9.30am
Please do come along to the Year 8 Coffee Morning, in the Adam Room Cafe, on Monday 4 February. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet with other parents. Miss Frizoni (Head of Lower School)
RH7 Sevenoaks Station Shuttle Bus
Please could we respectfully remind parents that if you require your son/daughter to catch the above bus at 5.30pm that you must book this via SOCS. This service is available free of charge to students who hold a return or PM ticket. Ad hoc tickets are available if we have space. We have been advised by our driver that students who are not booked on are getting on the bus. To ensure we follow our Safeguarding Procedure, if students are not booked on, they will be asked to go to the Prep School Office and you will be called for your consent for them to travel. If there are no spaces we will need to ask you to come to RH7 to collect your child.
Radnor House Charity Golf Day
After the huge success of last year's event where we raised £2500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, we are looking to hold our 2nd Radnor Charity Golf Day later this year. For further information please contact Mr Woodward firstname.lastname@example.org
Notice for Year 9-10 Boys-After School Rugby Practice
The sports practice for years 9-10 boys has been moved to a Tuesday at 4pm-5.15pm to be merged with the Year 7-8 practice. The touch rugby elements to training will be done together whilst contact will be separate.
Notice for Years 7-10 Senior Boys
Please can all parents ensure that their child has their mouth guard and rugby/football boots for games and after school practices. We have had several rugby sessions with a number of children without these key pieces of equipment. In order to continue developing our rugby programme, there must be a contact element to each games and training session. In addition, during the cold weather, I would encourage all students to be wearing 'skins' or an under layer, as well as a Radnor tracksuit top and bottoms. Thanks very much for your continued support. Mr T Green-Head of Boys Games
