Year 3 and 4 - Production of Mystery at Magpie Manor – DVD

If you have not already ordered the DVD from this fabulous production, you will still be able to do so. Please find attached the order form for the DVD.  We would appreciate all forms to be returned to the Prep Office by Wednesday 2 May.  Printed forms are also available in the Prep Office.

Year 5 and 6 PGL Trip to Marchants Hill

Please can those parents who have not yet handed in the medical form for the Year 5 and 6 trip to PGL, do so as soon as possible please.   The medical form can be found here and needs to be handed into either Mr Woodward or the Prep Office.  A kit list provided by PGL can also be found here.

Maths Week - Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May

Next week, the Prep School will be holding its first Maths Week to celebrate all things maths at Radnor. There are lots of fun activities planned during the week that everyone will be involved in:

Tuesday 30 April - The Problem Solving Company will be coming in to set the Prep School maths problems throughout the day.

Wednesday 1 May - Times Table RockStars competition - who will be the best class in the school?

Thursday 2 May - Fun maths challenges being set around the school.

Friday 3 May - Maths dressing up day, children to come into school dressed up with a maths theme! Calculators, Maths Wizards, Dominoes, Protractors, Numbers... the list of possibilities is endless!  Pinterest have some great examples if you are stuck for ideas.  There will be prizes for the best costumes in Lower Prep and Upper Prep. 

As well as all of these great events going on, Years 5 and 6 will be running their own businesses on specific days during the week.  These will take place after school under the archway of the Prep School from 3.15-4.15pm.

6W – Tuesday, 5P – Wednesday, 5V – Thursday, 6M - Friday.

Each class has been given £20 to spend wisely on items that they can sell after school.  They need to turn this £20 into as much profit as possible, as the class with the most profit will win a prize!  Look around the school to see advertisements on what each class will be selling.

Please can you help to support these businesses as all profits will be donated to the school's chosen charities. 

5P's Mathematical Raffle

During maths week, 5P will be holding a stall on Wednesday 1 May where we will be selling delicious cookies and biscuits as well as a 'Guess the Weight of the GIANT cookie'.

To promote our stall, 5P will also be holding a raffle competition from Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May.  Each ticket will cost £1 and will give participants the chance of winning a 'Goodie box' full of wonderful treats! Tickets can be bought from the office.

All of the proceeds go towards the Radnor House charities and will support fantastic causes.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Class Assemblies 

We would like to invite parents to attend their child's class assembly on the following dates:

4D - Thursday 9 May

4B - Thursday 16 May 

3HB - Thursday 23 May 

3FL - Thursday 13 June 

Reception - Thursday 20 June 

Year 1 - Thursday 27 June 

These amazing assemblies are a celebration of the pupil's learning.  They take place in the Performing Arts Centre at 8.40am.  We look forward to welcoming you to these events. 

Performing Arts Timetables

The Performing Arts Timetables are available here.  Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change.  Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom.  The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.

Italian Pop-up Restaurant

To raise funds for the Uganda trip (the money will go towards projects at the Radnor House schools in Uganda), there will be a pop-up restaurant on the evening of Saturday 18 May in the school Dining Hall.  You are invited to book a table for 6 people or more by Friday 3 May.  Once you have booked we will email you the menu (5 courses), and ask you to choose your main course and dessert.  We are asking for a minimum donation of £25/person which will be collected on the night.  There is a maximum of 60 places, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Come and enjoy an evening with friends and savour wonderful Italian food such as lasagne, carbonara, stuffed aubergine, tiramisu, granita, pannacotta and biscotti all cooked on site by volunteer non-professional chefs - in other words - staff, pupils and parents!  Please email Mrs Mags Southgate to book your table: msouthgate@radnor-sevenoaks.org 

Radnor House Charity Triathlon - Saturday 14 September 2019

This September, Radnor House Sevenoaks will host its inaugural Charity Triathlon.  It is an all age, all ability event with no experience necessary or expected.

We hope that all pupils will enter the event and that family members will come along to support and take part.  All pupils will receive house points and adults will have points given to their chosen house.  A cup will be awarded to the house who have the most points after the event.

The entrance fee for pupils is £10 which will go towards the running costs for the day.  In addition there is an expectation for pupils to raise a minimum of £15 sponsorship money which will go towards their house charity.  Sponsorship forms will be available from the Senior and Prep Offices.  The adult entrance fee is £30 with no sponsorship required, however any donations to the charities will be very welcome.

The event is designed to be accessible to all, appropriately challenging and competitive for those who wish to make it so.  Junior distances range from 10-100m swim, 200m-2.2km cycle (grass) and 100m-1.2km run.  The adult race comprises a 150m swim, 8km cycle (road) and 2 km run.

All triathlon finishers will receive a medal and there will be prizes for the top competitors in each distance and age category.  Click  here for online entry.  Please direct any questions to Ed Kemp: ekemp@radnor-sevenoaks.org
