Co-Curricular Clubs and Activities
A reminder to everyone that the sign up for the Co-Curricular Clubs and Activities for the Spring Term is currently open on SOCS and will close this Sunday 18 November. If you have not done so already, please could parents ensure that your child has signed up to their chosen clubs. As previously stated, there is no auto-enrolment so in order to continue with an Autumn club, you must sign up, once again, for the Spring Term.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any login issues. Please note, due to the carol service, school Christmas productions and year group celebrations, there will be NO CLUBS for the Prep or Senior school in the final week of this Autumn Term (Mon 10th-Fri 14 December). However, if a teacher decides to continue with their lunchtime club in the final week, they will inform students and parents directly. Clubs for the Spring Term will start on the first teaching day back, which is Tuesday 8 January. Mr T. Green- Assistant Head-Co-Curricular
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
Middle School & Sixth Form Production - 19 & 20 November 2018 - Tickets
All parents, friends & family of Radnor House Sevenoaks are cordially invited to the inaugural Middle & Sixth Form Production of the comedic farce 'The Virtuous Burglar' on Monday 19 & Tuesday 20 November at 7pm. Adult tickets are £5, with child tickets being £3 tickets can be reserved through this link, and will follow again in the Parent Bulletins over the coming weeks. The show revolves around a burglar uncovering an illicit relationship as he's fleecing an 'empty' house and is sure to be a raucously fun evening of laughs (we hope!). Due to the more grown-up subject matter of the play, it is not suitable for anyone under the age of 11 years!
Network Evening Event - 7 March 2019
Our Network Evening this academic year will be held on Thursday 7 March. We would appreciate as many parental volunteers as possible to come along and speak to our students and give them information on your career and how you achieved it. From previous years we know that this can have a very positive impact on our students in terms of their awareness of certain careers, their aspirations towards their GCSE and A level grades and their ability to 'network' with adults. This year the Network Evening will be for Year 10 - 13 students but parents of students in the entire school can help support this opportunity. If you are able to spare your time to do this, please email email@example.com Many thanks in advance for your help. David Leddington (Head of Sixth Form)
Christmas House Competitions:
Radnor's Got Talent
The Prep Prefects have organised a 'Radnor's Got Talent Competition'. This competition is open to Year 3 to Year 6 pupils ONLY and will take place on Thursday 13 December; pupils can enter individually or as a group. Please complete the entry form attached and return it to the Prep Office by Monday 26 November to secure a place. The cost to enter is £3 and this will be donated to each of the House Charities.
Decorate a Bauble Competition
Additionally, Prep Prefects have organised a bauble competition for the pupils in Nursery to Year 2. The cost to enter is between £1.50- £3 (depending on the size of the bauble) and these can be collected from the Prep Office. Baubles can be decorated in any way you choose but MUST represent your child's house, e.g. Red to represent Nightingale, Blue for Newton, Green for Churchill and Yellow for Pankhurst. All entry money will be donated to the house charities. The baubles will be displayed on our Christmas Tree in the Court Yard so please try and make them weather proof (a glaze of PVA glue mixed with a splash of water will help protect them).
I am delighted to announce the launch of the Book Bingo which will run until the end of term. All Prep School children and students in Year 7 are taking part and have each been given a 'Bingo' card on which various book genres have been printed. For students in Years 3 to 7, the object is to read each of these genres, (six books in total), collecting a sticker for every book read, which they should then stick onto their card. For children in Nursery to Year 2, the aim is for them to share ten books with their teacher or parents, again, covering each genre and collecting stickers on the way. Once students' cards are full, they will have finished the challenge and will receive a certificate during the last week of term. So please encourage students to complete the Book Bingo which is a great opportunity for them to read new books and discover different genres. Many thanks and Happy Reading. Catherine Beck (Learning Resource Manager)
