Reception visit to RHS Gardens Wisley on Friday 3 May 2019 – Action required
Please see the attached letter which contains information on the Reception Class trip to RHS Wisley, along with a sign up form which must be completed by Friday 26 April.
Maths Week - Monday 29 April - Friday 3 May
After the Easter Holiday, the Prep School will be holding its first Maths Week to celebrate all things maths at Radnor. There are lots of fun activities planned during the week that everyone will be involved in:
Tuesday 30 April - The Problem Solving Company coming will be in to set the Prep School problems throughout the day.
Wednesday 1 May - Times Table RockStars competition - who will be the best class in the school?
Thursday 2 May - Fun maths challenges being set around the school.
Friday 3 May - Maths dressing up day - all children to come into school dressed up following a maths theme: calculators, maths wizards, dominoes, protractors, numbers... the list of possibilities is endless! Pinterest have some great examples if you are stuck for ideas. There will be prizes for the best costumes in Lower Prep and Upper Prep.
As well as all of these great events going on, Years 5 and 6 will be running their own businesses on specific days during the week, as follows: 6W - Tuesday; 5P - Wednesday; 5V - Thursday; 6M - Friday. Each class has been given £20 to spend wisely on items that they can sell after school on specific afternoons after school to the parents and children of Radnor House. They need to turn this £20 into as much profit as possible as the class with the most profit will win a prize! Please can you help to support these businesses as all profits will be donated to the school's chosen charities.
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
Project Le Monde - Year 2 Africa Day Cake Sale
The Year 2 Africa Day on Tuesday was a huge success and a brilliant day was had by all. An outstanding grand total of £342.55 was raised from the delicious Cake Sale in the afternoon. A Huge 'Thank you' to everyone who supplied cakes and helped set up the stalls and sell the cakes on the day.
Radnor Charity Golf Day - Sunday 23 June 2019 - Westerham Golf Club
Please be advised that there are just 8 spaces available for the Radnor Charity Golf Day taking place later this year. They will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to take part in this event, please contact Mr Woodward email@example.com The cost of the day is £70 and consists of breakfast, 18 holes of golf, a two course meal and a raffle with some fantastic prizes already available. There are discounts available for juniors who wish to take part.
For those who are already signed up to take part, please can you make sure that your payment and reply slip are handed into the Prep or Senior Office as soon as possible. If there are any problems, please contact Mr Woodward on the above email address. The letter with the reply slip that needs to be handed in can be found here.
Italian Pop-up Restaurant
To raise funds for the Uganda trip (the money will go towards projects at the Radnor House schools in Uganda), there will be a pop-up restaurant on the evening of Saturday 18 May in the school Dining Hall. You are invited to book a table for 6 people or more by Friday 3 May. Once you have booked we will email you the menu (5 courses), and ask you to choose your main course and dessert. We are asking for a minimum donation of £25/person which will be collected on the night. There is a maximum of 60 places, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Come and enjoy an evening with friends and savour wonderful Italian food such as lasagne, carbonara, stuffed aubergine, tiramisu, granita, pannacotta and biscotti all cooked on site by volunteer non-professional chefs - in other words - staff, pupils and parents! Radnor House Charity Triathlon - Saturday 14 September 2019
This September, Radnor House Sevenoaks will host its inaugural Charity Triathlon. It is an all age, all ability event with no experience necessary or expected.
We hope that all pupils will enter the event and that family members will come along to support and take part. All pupils will receive house points and adults will have points given to their chosen house. A cup will be awarded to the house who have the most points after the event.
The entrance fee for pupils is £10 which will go towards the running costs for the day. In addition there is an expectation for pupils to raise a minimum of £15 sponsorship money which will go towards their house charity. Sponsorship forms will be available from the Senior and Prep Offices. The adult entrance fee is £30 with no sponsorship required, however any donations to the charities will be very welcome.
The event is designed to be accessible to all, appropriately challenging and competitive for those who wish to make it so. Junior distances range from 10-100m swim, 200m-2.2km cycle (grass) and 100m-1.2km run. The adult race comprises a 150m swim, 8km cycle (road) and 2 km run.
All triathlon finishers will receive a medal and there will be prizes for the top competitors in each distance and age category. Click here for online entry. Please direct any questions to Ed Kemp: email@example.com

Please may I ask parents to be vigilant as a case of head lice has been reported. A reminder that all girls should have their hair tied back at all times. Branded water bottles
We will be stocking RH7 branded 700ml flip top water bottles, in either red or black, from the beginning of the Summer term. They will be available to purchase from the café priced at £7.
