Prep Representatives' Meeting - Minutes

Independent Study and Wrap Care
Please note that unfortunately we will not be able to offer Independent Study or Wrap Care on the last day of term, Friday 5 April, 2019. Please make sure you have arrangements in place to pick up your child/ren at the end of their school day.
Radnor Charity Golf Day - Sunday 23 June 2019 - Westerham Golf Club:
Please be advised that some spaces have become available for the Radnor Charity Golf Day taking place later this year. They will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to take part in this event, please contact Mr Woodward (email@example.com). The cost of the day is £70 and consists of breakfast, 18 holes of golf, a two course meal and a raffle with some fantastic prizes already available. There are discounts available for juniors who wish to take part.
For those who are already signed up to take part, please can you make sure that your payment and reply slip are handed into the Prep or Senior Office before the 22 March. If there are any problems, please contact Mr Woodward on the above email address. The letter with the reply slip that needs to be handed in can be found here.
Maths Week - Monday 29 April - Friday 3 May
After Easter, the Prep School will be celebrating all things maths with lots of activities planned for the week, from Times Table Rock Stars competitions to business ventures, from using and applying our maths through reasoning problems and games to dressing up days... maths will be everywhere! We will also have a company coming in to take classes for a problem solving session during the week as well. More details about what children can expect to take part in during the week will be sent out in next week's Bulletin.
Message from Mrs Bliss, Newton House - Easter Fair
Newton House are very excited about the Easter Fair and raising money for our charity West Kent Mind. We would really appreciate the following donations:
Pick up the Smarties
We will be running a how many Smarties can you pick up in 30 seconds game. If you would be able to donate some Smarties it would be really appreciated.
Jolly Jam Jars
Jolly jars are clean jam jars (or any glass jar with a lid) decorated by the children and filled with small toys and treats. Decorating and filling the jars is great fun and a lovely way to get in to the charity spirit in the run up to the Fair. The sort of items that prove popular are - wrapped sweets or lollies, unused small toys/party bag toys, hair accessories, toy jewellery, stickers and stationery.
Please do not use jars that have contained vinegar or oil as the smell lingers and taints the goodies inside. Wrapped sweets only for hygiene purposes and NO nuts please. Jars can be decorated either on the glass with sharpies/paint/glitter, or over the lid with tissue paper or patterned fabric and fixed with an elastic band. A blue colour theme would be great! We would like Jolly Jars to be with us by Tuesday 2 April, and placed with the house charity box under the arch. Thanks in advance for your support.

We are so excited for the Easter Fundraiser and cannot wait for the big day! We are looking forward to supporting our house charity - RDA (Bradbourne Riding for the Disabled Association)
We will be running the following three stalls - Selling homemade dog biscuits, please find the recipe attached here, name the pony (kindly donated by the RDA) along with a bring and buy sale.
To run these stalls successfully we need your help! Please could you support our stalls by, making dog biscuits, they will need to be put into sealed bags and contain 5 or 10 biscuits. Recycle your old things - bring in toys, teddies, books etc to sell. We ask that all toys are not broken, are clean and are age appropriate. We are saying no thank you to video games, electronics and DVDs.
Please bring in your homemade dog biscuits and recycled toys/books to Miss Dale or to the Prep office by Tuesday 2nd April 2019.

Message from Mr Veness - Pankhurst House
Pankhurst are all very excited about the Easter Fair and raising money for our charity Leonard Cheshire. Our children have decided that they would like to run the following stalls and any donations would be hugely appreciated!
Cakes - (With a Pankhurst Theme)
We will be organising a cake sale and it would be great to have as many as possible. Remember that we are a nut free school and could all cakes have a list of ingredients in case of any other allergies (milk, fruit, etc). Cakes should be brought to the Prep Office on the morning of the event.
Guess the number of sweets in a jar
Children will be trying to guess the correct number of sweets in a jar - donations of sweets would be hugely appreciated, and can be put into the Pankhurst collection box in the Prep Office from the 1st of April.
We will be running a Tombola and any small gifts for children would be greatly appreciated! These can be handed in to the Prep Office (Pankhurst collection box) from the 25th March.

Message from Miss Fulcher - Nightingale House
Calling Nightingale House! Our Easter Fair is coming up quickly and we need your help! We are all very excited about the Easter Fair and raising money for our charity Foal Farm. Nightingale children have decided that they would like to run the following stalls, and any donations would be hugely appreciated!
Cakes and lollies - (With a Nightingale Theme)
We will be organising a cake and lolly sale (weather dependent) and it would be great to have as many as possible. Remember that we are a nut free school and could all cakes have a list of ingredients in case of any other allergies (Milk, fruit, etc), any dairy free/gluten free treats would be appreciated as well. Cakes should be brought to the Prep Office on the morning of the event.
Guess the name of the chick
Children will be trying to guess the name of the chick. This will be organised by the wonderful Year 6 children.
We will be running a lucky dip prize draw. This has already been started by Nathan in 6W, but any other small prizes would be appreciated. If these could be handed into the Prep office by Monday 1 April that would be wonderful.
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
