NHS Fundraising and donations

Following our NHS Appeal for Pembury and Tonbridge Cottage Hospitals, we are pleased to report the following:

Thank you to everyone who donated their money and time to say thank you to our wonderful NHS.

We are thrilled to advise that our school community has raised a phenomenal £2618.00 for the NHS appeal.

We received a wish list from the staff at the local hospitals and at the top of the list was a request for easy to use coffee machines to be left in their staff rooms.  They really needed a simple coffee machine and one which turned off after one cup full and which didn’t need fresh milk and could also make hot chocolate and other hot drinks.  After much research, it was decided that Dulce Gusto machines were the best option.

We purchased 9 machines from Currys in Maidstone and Aaron Shepheard Business their Customer Manager donated the 10th machine and 4 boxes of capsules from their store budget.

The machines will go to 9 COVID and A&E Wards and 1 will go to the Hedgehog children’s ward which is now being used as a COVID red zone.

Paul Ebbatson of VR print Sevenoaks, kindly printed and donated ‘Thank you from all at RH7 to the NHS’ labels to be attached to the machines.

We have spent c. £1130 to date and have donated so far approx :

  • 150 bottles energy drinks
  • 54 lip balms (this was separate to all Nicole Beesley’s donation from Hygiene Bank)
  • 3360 Tea bags
  • 250 Bags of crisps
  • 110 cup-a-soup
  • 600 energy/chocolate bars

A huge thanks to all of these people:

A special thanks must go to Nicole Beesley who is a parent in Year 6 and volunteer for the Hygiene Bank. She received a donation of 136 kilograms of lip balm, hand cream, wipes and body cream from Boots and has generously arranged for these to be donated to the NHS staff.

A massive thank you also goes to Julie and Stephen Humphreys for organising for the RH7 Community to donate and support our local NHS workers. For collecting boxes of products from the Hygiene Bank, picking up the coffee machines and dropping them off for NHS collection.  You have worked tirelessly and we all really appreciate everything you have done.

Some of the wonderful words from the staff at the various hospitals we have supported so far:
