Year 12 Examinations

Year 12 students will have their school examinations from 3 May to 10 May inclusive.  These exams are crucial in monitoring and assessing students’ current grades in their A Levels, and in helping them to understand how to progress for their final examinations.  Exam conditions will be as close as possible to the actual A Levels.  Please ensure, therefore, that he or she prepares thoroughly for these exams and comes fully equipped with a transparent pencil case, black pens and any other equipment that is required for a specific subject.  A clear water bottle may be brought, but all labels must be removed.

There will be no lessons and pupils have permission to revise at home if they do not have an exam on a particular morning or afternoon.  Alternatively they may revise in the school library or study room in the main school building, but it is imperative that they sign in and out at reception.

Students have been given their exam timetable, please find a copy attached, along with the attached school internal exam procedures, which you will also find on the school website in the Examinations Section.  Revision over the coming few weeks will be vital for success in these examinations, and I thank you for supporting your son or daughter with his/her studies during this time.

Performing Arts Timetables

The Performing Arts Timetables are available here.  Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change.  Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom.  The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.

The Radnor House Sevenoaks Folio of Writing Spring Term 2019

We are very pleased to present a folio, attached, of excellent writing and artwork produced by students from across the Senior School during the Spring Term.  We have been focusing on developing the ability of all students to produce extended pieces of writing, whether creative or analytical, in which they can really explore an idea or develop their fluency and style.  We hope that you will enjoy the work that has been chosen for this collection and that it may inspire those not included to write something for the next edition.

Radnor Charity Golf Day - Sunday 23 June 2019 - Westerham Golf Club

Please be advised that there are just 8 spaces available for the Radnor Charity Golf Day taking place later this year.  They will be offered on a first come, first served basis.  If you would like to take part in this event, please contact Mr Woodward awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org  The cost of the day is £70 and consists of breakfast, 18 holes of golf, a two course meal and a raffle with some fantastic prizes already available.  There are discounts available for juniors who wish to take part.

For those who are already signed up to take part, please can you make sure that your payment and reply slip are handed into the Prep or Senior Office as soon as possible.  If there are any problems, please contact Mr Woodward on the above email address.  The letter with the reply slip that needs to be handed in can be found here.

Italian Pop-up Restaurant

To raise funds for the Uganda trip (the money will go towards projects at the Radnor House schools in Uganda), there will be a pop-up restaurant on the evening of Saturday 18 May in the school Dining Hall.  You are invited to book a table for 6 people or more by Friday 3 May.  Once you have booked we will email you the menu (5 courses), and ask you to choose your main course and dessert.  We are asking for a minimum donation of £25/person which will be collected on the night.  There is a maximum of 60 places, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Come and enjoy an evening with friends and savour wonderful Italian food such as lasagne, carbonara, stuffed aubergine, tiramisu, granita, pannacotta and biscotti all cooked on site by volunteer non-professional chefs - in other words - staff, pupils and parents!  Please email Mrs Mags Southgate to book your table: msouthgate@radnor-sevenoaks.org 

Radnor House Charity Triathlon - Saturday 14 September 2019

This September, Radnor House Sevenoaks will host its inaugural Charity Triathlon.  It is an all age, all ability event with no experience necessary or expected.

We hope that all pupils will enter the event and that family members will come along to support and take part.  All pupils will receive house points and adults will have points given to their chosen house.  A cup will be awarded to the house who have the most points after the event.

The entrance fee for pupils is £10 which will go towards the running costs for the day.  In addition there is an expectation for pupils to raise a minimum of £15 sponsorship money which will go towards their house charity.  Sponsorship forms will be available from the Senior and Prep Offices.  The adult entrance fee is £30 with no sponsorship required, however any donations to the charities will be very welcome.

The event is designed to be accessible to all, appropriately challenging and competitive for those who wish to make it so.  Junior distances range from 10-100m swim, 200m-2.2km cycle (grass) and 100m-1.2km run.  The adult race comprises a 150m swim, 8km cycle (road) and 2 km run.

Still typing with just one finger?

If your typing skills are not what they could be or you use a laptop in school for lessons and exams then you can join the touch typing course in the summer term.  The sessions are at 8.00am to 8.40am in Prep ICT on Wednesdays, and ICTA on Thursdays at 4.00pm until 4.40pm.  Please note that each 40 minute lessons costs £12.50.  There will be 10 lessons per term, and we highly recommend that your son/daughter attends all 10 where possible.  This is a skill for life so grab the opportunity now to learn to touch type.  Contact Susie Pepper on susiepepper7@gmail.com

Branded water bottles

We will be stocking RH7 branded 700ml flip top water bottles, in either red or black, from the beginning of the Summer term.  They will be available to purchase from the café priced at £7.
