Note to Year 10 Students
As the Year 11s begin their GSCEs we are now looking for ten Year 10 students who are able and willing to become Prefects. The successful applicant should be a good organiser, have strong inter-personal skills and have a willingness to help out at school events. Letters of applications are welcome before the deadline of Friday 17 May and should be addressed to their form tutor. Students will then be interviewed the following week. Applicants should be prepared to talk about what they would like to bring to the role.
Note to Year 11 Parents
As our students begin some of their GCSEs I wish them all the very best of luck. In order to avoid unnecessary charges after the end of this term I ask that students bring in their textbooks as each subject exam finishes. Textbooks should have their name written clearly inside the jacket and left in a box outside the exam hall. It has been a pleasure working with the students and I look forward to seeing everyone at Prize Giving. Mrs Hay

Lower School Exams - Years 7 & 8
The Year 7 and Year 8 exams will take place commencing Thursday 6 June. Please find the Year 7 timetable here and the Year 8 timetable here, along with the school internal exam procedures found on the school website in the Examinations Section.
School exams are an important preparation for the final external exams and we encourage pupils to prepare fully and seriously for them. We would be grateful for full parental support in this. Please ensure that you have read and fully understood the exam procedures information.

Year 7 and 8 Gala Performance 'A Night at the Theatre' - Action Required

Year 8 Rochester trip
Year 8 will be visiting Rochester Castle, Cathedral and the High Street on Tuesday 14 May. Please ensure pupils arrive in plenty of time to secure a punctual departure. Full school uniform should be worn.
Year 9 HPQ Launch
On Thursday this week, the Year 9 pupils were introduced to a new qualification offered at Radnor House: the Higher Project Qualification. It is aimed at pupils in the Middle School years and is designed to enhance their GCSE studies.
The HPQ is worth half a GCSE, and is viewed highly by higher educational institutions such as Russell Group Universities. It is an excellent addition to the pupils' academic profiles and will prepare them for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is worth half an A-Level, to be completed in the Sixth Form.
Please find attached a copy of the presentation delivered to the pupils. They have now produced initial ideas for projects which they will pursue, with support, over the coming weeks.
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
There have been some changes Miss Dowdeswell will be in on Friday 17 May.

The Summer Term Music Calendar is attached. Please note that the whole of Year 7 is involved in the Lower School Production Nights and the Year 7 concert.

Back by popular demand - Get Sorted!
Mrs Hancock is going to run an early morning organisation session starting on Thursday 16 May in ICT A from 8.00am until 8.20am. These will run each Thursday morning from then on. This will be an opportunity for students to get help with sorting their books, gluing in work, organising online files and anything else they need support with. She is looking forward to seeing the students bright and early!
Radnor Charity Golf Day - Sunday 23 June 2019 - Westerham Golf Club
Please be advised that there are limited spaces available for the Radnor Charity Golf Day taking place next month. Please see the poster attached here with more information. They will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to take part in this event, please contact Mr Woodward (firstname.lastname@example.org). The cost of the day is £70 and consists of breakfast, 18 holes of golf, a two course meal and a raffle with some fantastic prizes available including golf bags, free rounds of golf at Westerham GC and London GC plus lots more besides that. There are discounts available for juniors who wish to take part.

Parent Fitness Classes
We are pleased to announce that parent fitness classes will be running every Monday morning, beginning Monday 13 May at the time of 8.15am-9.00am. Radnor House Charity Triathlon - Saturday 14 September 2019
This September, Radnor House Sevenoaks will host its inaugural Charity Triathlon. It is an all age, all ability event with no experience necessary or expected.
We hope that all pupils will enter the event and that family members will come along to support and take part. All pupils will receive house points and adults will have points given to their chosen house. A cup will be awarded to the house who have the most points after the event.
The entrance fee for pupils is £10 which will go towards the running costs for the day. In addition there is an expectation for pupils to raise a minimum of £15 sponsorship money which will go towards their house charity. Sponsorship forms will be available from the Senior and Prep Offices. The adult entrance fee is £30 with no sponsorship required, however any donations to the charities will be very welcome.
The event is designed to be accessible to all, appropriately challenging and competitive for those who wish to make it so. Junior distances range from 10-100m swim, 200m-2.2km cycle (grass) and 100m-1.2km run. The adult race comprises a 150m swim, 8km cycle (road) and 2 km run.
