Year 3 - Important Message for Monday 4 February
On Monday 4 February, we have Mr Dattani, our parent-dentist, visiting Year 3 to give a lesson about dental hygiene and healthy eating. He would like to demonstrate and practise with the children the correct brushing technique, and we would therefore ask that the children bring their toothbrush into school on Monday. Any questions or concerns please email us.

Year 5 and 6 PGL trip to Marchants Hill - Parents' Meeting - Tuesday 5 February - 4pm
A reminder that there will be a parents' meeting for all of the children in Years 5 and 6 who are going on the trip to PGL Marchants Hill in June. This meeting will be held in the Performing Arts Centre in the Senior School from 4.00pm on Tuesday 5 February and will be a chance for you to find out, in more detail, what activities your children will be taking part in, where we will be staying and also to answer any questions that you may have about the trip.
Safer Internet Week 2019
Safer Internet Day 2019 will take place on Tuesday 5 February with the theme ‘Together for a better internet'. During the week commencing 4 February, pupils in the Prep and Senior school will have targeted assemblies, computing and PSHEE sessions to raise awareness and share advice on how to be positive, safe and respectful online.
Successful online safety involves the whole family and safer internet week is a fantastic opportunity to have a conversation with children about using the internet safely, responsibly and positively. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, foster carer, aunt, uncle or older sibling – we can all play a role in empowering young people to enjoy their time online.
We have put together a pack of information to help support online safety conversations at home and will be tweeting links and updates throughout the week.
Many of the ideas and resources that we will be promoting this week have been taken from the UK Safer Internet centre website. This website has a huge amount of useful content for parents and carers so please do take a look online.
Online Safety - A Parent Awareness Seminar
Thank you to the parents and carers that attended this week's online safety seminar.
Miss Wright is planning to rerun the seminar later this year so please look out for details in a future Bulletin.
You can view the presentation slides by clicking on this link.

Monitoring Pupil Devices at Home
One of the topics discussed at the seminar was issue of monitoring pupil devices. There are now a number of apps and software providers that can help parents take back control and guide their child's internet use.
Apps that we are aware of:
Family Link app - works on Android devices:
Qustodio - works on Apple and Android devices
Our Pact - works on Apple and Android devices
Times Tables Rock Stars
Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that some children are signing in as others to purposefully reduce the average times on some children's accounts. Therefore, I will be issuing all children with new unique passwords from next week. Please continue to use usernames and passwords as normal over the weekend. Well done to all of those children who have made such amazing progress with their times table knowledge. Keep up the good work.
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
RH7 Sevenoaks Station Shuttle Bus
Please could we respectfully remind parents that if you require your son/daughter to catch the above bus at 5.30pm that you must book this via SOCS. This service is available free of charge to students who hold a return or PM ticket. Ad hoc tickets are available if we have space. We have been advised by our driver that students who are not booked on are getting on the bus. To ensure we follow our Safeguarding Procedure, if students are not booked on, they will be asked to go to the Prep School Office and you will be called for your consent for them to travel. If there are no spaces we will need to ask you to come to RH7 to collect your child.
Radnor House Charity Golf Day
After the huge success of last year's event where we raised £2500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, we are looking to hold our 2nd Radnor Charity Golf Day later this year. So far I have 50 people signed up and only 60 spaces available so get in quick! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr Woodward firstname.lastname@example.org
Notice for Years 3-6 Prep Boys
Please can all parents ensure that their child has their mouth guard and rugby/football boots for games and after school practices. We have had several rugby sessions with a number of children without these key pieces of equipment. In order to continue developing our rugby programme, there must be a contact element to each games and training session. In addition, during the cold weather, I would encourage all students to be wearing 'skins' or an under layer, as well as a Radnor tracksuit top and bottoms. Thanks very much for your continued support. Mr T Green-Head of Boys Games
