Swimming is taught from the ages of 4-18 throughout the year in one of the best 25m school swim facilities in Kent meaning we are able to offer outstanding opportunities for all our students to make progress in the pool.
The swimming programme is led by our Director of Swimming Mrs Helen Dudman who has a vast experience of working with beginners to national level swimmers. She is supported by a strong team of specialist swimming coaches, swimming teachers and members of the sports department. Swimming is delivered in our excellent 25 metre swimming pool with its overhanging viewing gallery.
All prep school students swim weekly where we encourage them to build confidence in the water through to stroke technique, and then into squad training for competition. In the senior school, pupils swim on a rotation within their PE lessons whilst the more able swimmers join the swim squad who train and compete before and after school as part of the school’s excellent co-curricular programme.
The school has strong relationships with all local clubs to ensure a smooth pathway into competitive swimming for those who wish to develop their swimming further and we currently have a good cross section of regional swimmers training in our four squads.
From January 2020, the Radnor Swimming swim school will commence which has an experienced team of swimming teachers and coaches offering pupils after school lessons to accommodate all their needs from learning to swim right through to competition starts, turns and stroke technique. We are a registered Swim England swim school using their leading national teaching syllabus for delivering safe, inclusive and effective lessons for all ages.
