Welcome to Nursery

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, the magic of Pre-Prep begins in our Nursery from a child’s second birthday.

Our philosophy is to provide the very best in Early Years care and education for boys and girls in a nurturing, happy environment.

Our children learn through a balance of planned teacher-led and child-initiated play-based activities both indoors and outdoors. We make learning an adventure, with many developmental opportunities along the way. Above all, we aim for children to enjoy their learning, ensuring a happy transition from home to school.

Class sizes are intentionally small, allowing our highly qualified and experienced staff to deliver exceptional care. Children engage in well-planned learning experiences that develop their knowledge, understanding, and skills across all areas of the foundation stage. They are introduced to our core values of Excellence, Perseverance, Courage, and Respect through daily routines, Forest School, PE, swimming, performing arts, library time and language lessons.

Our Nursery children enjoy a newly developed outdoor play and learning area, offering a magical, multi-sensory experience for children. These first steps away from family are important and special; we support children in growing their independence, marking the start of an exciting learning journey.

The School Environment

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we believe children thrive when they are confident and happy. Our Nursery years focus on developing children socially, academically, and physically in a supportive, caring environment. Classes are mixed age groups, with activities and learning tailored to individual developmental stages rather than age, allowing children to flourish at their own pace.

Our dedicated Nursery classrooms have access to a secure outdoor play area with play equipment, a sandpit, a mud kitchen, a forest school area, and a story corner. Children also benefit from other school facilities, including our swimming pool, sports hall, Prep hall, Prep library, Prep wrap care space, and extensive grounds.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the genuinely warm and caring staff who make the whole thing feel very much like an extension of the family
