Rugby is played as part of the PE and Games curriculum during the Spring term. There are also Rugby Clubs taking place as part of the co-curricular programme.
Rugby is increasingly important at Radnor House Sevenoaks and very much in tune with the school’s values of courage, perseverance and respect. Pupils start Touch and Tag Rugby from Year 2, focusing on the fundamentals of passing, running and spatial awareness. From Year 4. contact Rugby is introduced and pupils learn the developing rules of the game in line with Age Grade Rugby. Conditioned games are used for pupils to apply these skills in competitive situations.
Radnor House Sevenoaks plays a variety of Rugby fixtures against both Prep and Independent schools within the local area and is developing it's Rugby reputation. Both Home and Away matches are played during games afternoons. The prorgamme is led by Tom Green (Head of Boys' Games) and RFU Level 2 coach. He is supported by Chris Rock (Director of Sport) and a team of expert coaches who lead games afternoons and training sessions as well as refereeing home fixtures.
We have close ties with Sevenoaks RFC and their Club Development Officer, Nick Wilkinson.
