In Cricket, pupils focus on learning and developing the core skills of bowling, fielding and batting. They also expand their knowledge of the rules and tactical awareness through gameplay.
Cricket is one of Radnor House’s focus sports from ages 8-18 for both boys and girls. The cricket programme will be led by a newly appointed Director of Cricket from September 2021 and they will be ably supported by the highly experience sports department. Cricket training and matches are played at the Sundridge recreational ground and Holmesdale Cricket Club.
Cricket fixtures and training take place in the summer term by both boys and girls. However, the school will also run a pre-season programme for all of its focus team games in the preceding term which enables pupils to develop their skills and knowledge of the game in preparation for the season ahead. This also allows for less experienced or novice players a chance to learn the basics and reach a level of confidence to be able to play in fixtures come the start of the season.
