Role: Director of Football
Start date: 1st September 2024
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the football programmes for boys and girls at Radnor House Sevenoaks. The Director of Football will work closely with the Director of Sport, Head of Prep PE and the Directors of Hockey, Cricket and Swimming in developing the school’s sports programme with a special focus on leading the football programme.
The sport at Radnor House Sevenoaks is at an exciting time because of growth in pupil numbers and significant investment in sports facilities and staffing. In football we have seen huge growth in performance and participation since starting the full boys and girls programmes just over three years ago. Various boys and girls' teams have gained tournament success which includes winning multiple ISA events and several pupils play for professional football clubs academies and teams.
Football is the focus sport for boys in the Michaelmas term and in the Lent term for girls. In addition, we run a pre-season term for both and girls in the term preceding to offer two terms of football for our pupils. Significant potential exists to develop football at Radnor House Sevenoaks further with its investment in facilities, staffing and its links with surrounding clubs. The Director of football will enjoy the support of a strong and experienced team of PE teachers and coaches. The school has its own football pitches along with use of the Sundridge Recreational ground which two full size football pitches and practice areas.
In addition to football coaching, an ability to coach cricket to a good standard during the summer term would be advantageous and experience teaching core and or academic PE would be desirable, and the teaching of core PE will form part of the role.
