Visual Arts

The study of Art and Design is valued highly at Radnor House Sevenoaks with pupils encouraged to nurture and develop creativity throughout their school life.

Children in the Prep School begin to explore the work of artists and designers and understand the place of art in society and culture. They are given the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and materials including drawing, painting, textiles, mosaic and pastels.

As part of the Co-curricular programme, Prep pupils can also choose to explore Rag-Rugging and Mindfulness Colouring in more detail.

As pupils progress into the Senior School they are encouraged to become more independent in using visual language to communicate their own ideas and feelings. Practical work is complemented by visits to galleries and exhibitions as well as Co-curricular clubs exploring Art History and advanced Art Skills, such as Silk-Screen Printing.

Students in both Prep and Senior also have access to our state of the art, purpose built Graphic Design computing suite to further enhance artistic skill in a progressive field. Pupils can experiment with animation, website design, film and Photoshop.
