Forest School and Outdoor Education

Radnor House recognises the importance of outdoor learning as a tool to develop resilience, perseverance and mental toughness.

Pupils from Reception to Year 3 enjoy Forest School as part of the weekly curriculum. Forest School is a free and open learning environment in which children learn to take responsible risks and become more confident and self-aware. This is an ideal opportunity for children to become more active and healthy in a fun and stimulating environment, giving them greater understanding and awareness of their natural surroundings.

In the Upper Prep (Years 4-6) pupils continue to enjoy our beautiful and inspirational grounds with weekly bushcraft and forest skills lessons. As pupils transition to the Senior School, outdoor education continues with camping expeditions in the Lower School and Duke of Edinburgh Awards from Year 9 onwards.
