Health Declaration Form
Please can the attached be completed by Sunday 1 November. This is required for all pupils back in school from Monday 2 November. Thank you.
World Mental Health Day
On Friday, across the whole school we celebrated World Mental Health Day. Some of us wore yellow to support the 'Hello Yellow' message, which was great to see. We had an informative assembly about mental health along with lesson discussions on how important it is to look after your mental health. Please see attached "what mental health is" here and some "coping strategies to ensure your brain is kept healthy during these challenging times" here. Look after yourselves and remember we are all in this together, so please do get in touch with us if you need any support.
READ! READ! READ!
Looking for a good read this half term? Local senior schools have collaborated to bring you a collection of books which will take you around the world from your armchair! Get your boarding pass ready and check in for your flight here.
October is Black History Month, please click here to have a look at a showcase of BAME authors and illustrators.
It's been great to see many of our pupils enjoying our eplatform digital library this term. Remember that anyone with a school login can borrow and reserve books from the website or app here.
Second Hand Uniform
As many of you know, up until now, the Second Hand Uniform Shop has been run fantastically by Penny Jackson, but as she is no longer a parent of the school, we thought it was time for her to be able to hang up her tags and clothes hangers and hand it back over to the school! We'd like to thank Penny for her incredible commitment to the school and for making the Second Hand Uniform Shop such a success. Thank you, Penny, from all of us at Radnor House. We will have a dedicated email for all orders from Monday 2 November 2020 which is firstname.lastname@example.org
Please use this address for Second Hand requests and we will endeavour to check stock and respond within 24 hours Monday-Friday. You will be sent an invoice once we have confirmed that we have the item and your order will be left in the Senior School porch.
Year 7 News
Year 7 Parent Consultations – Week of November 3rd
With our necessary move to online consultations, and understanding the challenge this involves for both parents and teachers sitting in front of a computer screen for long periods of time, we have made the decision to spread the consultations across four days (Tuesday 3 November – Friday 6 November).
With this change, comes a change of platform on which to book your times with the teachers. It can be found at this link.
For this event, we are using MS Bookings, which comes with many benefits, such as automatically creating events in a calendar linked with your email address, and sending you individual links for each meeting via email which, when clicked, will automatically place you in a waiting room on MS Teams with the appropriate teacher. You will not need to connect via you child’s account. It also allows us to create specific schedules of availability for each individual teacher across the four days (something not possible with the previous platform).
Unfortunately, while almost perfect, this system does require you to do the following when booking:
Fill in your name, and email for each booking (i.e. with each teacher), although it should autofill after the first one
Keep an eye on the times at which you are booking – while it will let you know if a teacher is booked at that time, it won’t tell you if you yourself have a clash
Of course, if you do have any questions, please do contact us and we will help you through the process.
Following the message in last week's Bulletin, regarding the Year 7s moving to year group bubbling after the half-term break, we wanted to let you know that any class changes will take place over the holiday in readiness for the first day back. Any timetable changes will be visible on My School Portal by the end of the second week, as will any changes of membership in MS Teams and OneNote.
Year 7 Parent Consultations will run with all current teachers.

Important changes to GCSE English Literature Exams Summer 2021
Please could all parents and carers please read the attached letter from Mr Pidgeon.
In PSHEE students have undertaken a COA questionnaire and we have reviewed the results with them. These COA profiles for careers and next steps will be coming home today and it would be beneficial to discuss the outcomes and the reviews that each of them have completed. All students also have access to an online platform called Unifrog here which gives more guidance over choices and next steps after GCSEs.
With the Year 11 Pre-Mocks fast approaching and starting immediately after the half-term break, the pupils were given a Revision Seminar by Mrs Hancock yesterday, providing them with guidance about how best to prepare over the coming two weeks. The information delivered can be viewed here.
In addition, pupils should find relevant topic list information on their subject OneNotes and/or on ShowMyHomework.
