Face Masks

Please be reminded that it is a requirement for ALL parents, senior school children and staff to wear face masks when leaving cars and walking into school.  May we please also ask that parents wherever absolutely possible do not congregate in the school grounds.  Children should be collected and parents should leave the school site without delay.

Online Viewing and Safety

Please see the attached letter from Miss Wright.

Co-Curricular Restart

am delighted to announce the return of our Co-Curricular clubs and activities.  We are beginning our Co-Curricular offer with in-house lunchtime only clubs for the next few weeks, as pupils and staff settle into the routine of their new school schedule.  These clubs will not appear on SOCS Co-Curricular, but class teachers will ask pupils to select any clubs they would like to attend for the next few weeks during registration.  We would ask that you speak to your child so that they can communicate with their teacher what club they would be interested in attending.

We are making plans and assessing the risk for a phased return of other co-curricular activities as soon as possible.

With regard to any sports clubs, if your child does not have any other sports lessons on the day of their club, they should still wear their 'COVID friendly' uniform and they will not change into sports attire.

Please see the attached timetable detailing lunchtime clubs on offer for your information.

If you have any queries whatsoever, please email clubs@radnor-sevenoaks.org

School Photographs

We are really pleased to confirm that Imago photographers will be attending (COVID-19 safely) RH7 on Thursday 10 September to take individual photographs of all children.  Please send your child to school wearing their COVID friendly uniform (no ties, no blazers and sports kit if they have games or PE on Thursday).

Data Collection Form

Please can we ask that you complete the Data Collection Form here for your child/ren.  This helps us to keep all pupil records up-to-date.

Nursery and Transition News

Parent Seminars - Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September

Next week we will be holding Zoom Seminars for Parents with your child's class teacher.  There will be two slots per evening at 5.00pm and 5.30pm.  We have endeavoured to avoid clashes with siblings in the Prep School so that you are able to watch the meetings with all your children's class teachers. Please note that these meetings will all be recorded so if you are unable to make them you will be able to access all the information given out at a later date.

Wednesday 16 September
5.00pm - Year 2 and Year 5
5.30pm - Year 3

Thursday 17 September
5.00pm - Nursery/Transition, Year 1 and Year 4
5.30pm - Reception and Year 6

The links and passwords for these meetings will be sent out to you in the coming days.  If there are any problems or if you have any questions, please get in touch with your child's class teacher or Mr Woodward, awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org.  We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at these virtual meetings next week.

Pupil Planners

We are currently aiming to keep the pupil planner as a ‘home bubble’ document, so your child will use the planner to record their homework and bring it to and from school.  Whilst your child’s teacher will be able to read notes in the planner, we have asked them not to respond to them in the planner because it then means that they are working across multiple bubbles.  They will read and act upon notes, but will not provide a written response.  If you are writing a note to your child’s teacher which needs a written response, it may be preferable to email rather than to write it in their planner.

Awards in Celebration Assembly

Congratulations to the following prep children whose achievements we celebrated in our first Celebration assembly of the year:

Cyusa and Isabelle (Year 3) who have achieved their Timestable Rockstars certificates

Arthur (Reception) Beau, Thomas, Luella & Louis (Year 1) Amelia, Louis & Emma (Year 2), Florence (Year 3), Toby & Lizzie (Year 4), Lyndon (5P), Emily, Neve and Eleanor (Year 6) who achieved their Learn To Swim Star Awards

Lizzie & James (Year 4), Chiara (Year 5) and Eleanor (Year 6) who achieved their music grade exams.

Lauren (Year 4) who achieved several gymkhana rosettes.

Lizzie (Year 4) who achieved her Taekwondo red tag belt and her Summer Reading Challenge certificate.

Bella (Year 5) who has been moved up to the Junior Development 2 Squad at Sevenoaks Swim Club

Emily (Year 6) who has joined the elite dance troupe at Starmakerz and achieved her Blue and Music Blue Peter badges.

If your child has achieved something exciting outside of school in a club or activity that they participate in, please invite them to share it with the Prep School during our weekly Celebration Assembly on Mondays by sending any information to Dr Margrett: emargrett@radnor-sevenoaks.org.

Drop off and Collection in Prep

We are currently having more groups of children remaining on site outside of the Prep in the mornings and the evenings which means that it is harder to maintain social distancing.  Please can we ask that the children do not arrive before 8am as the doors to school will not be opened before this point as the teachers need time to prepare before their arrival.  Children should arrive at the time allocated to their year group or at the time allocated to their eldest prep sibling.

We originally stated that children could be collected at the pick up time for the eldest child in prep.  However, this has led to areas which are allocated to rotating year group bubbles still being occupied by members of the previous bubble when the new year group arrives due to staggered departure times.  We would therefore greatly appreciate it if parents can collect each child at the allocated pick up time for their year group to prevent this, and not wait to collect all children at the collection time for their eldest child.

Parents' Association - FoRH7

Ben Nevis  Challenge

We are in the process of finalising a new 2021 date with the school and hostel for this trip, taking into account the potential restrictions and deadlines for the transfer of some flight bookings.  Please bear with us a few more days on this, and we will inform all concerned directly.

Amazon Smile

We are now registered to receive donations (0.5% of the net purchase price), from eligible purchases as you shop via Amazon UK.  It's easy to start donating by clicking here, and selecting Friends of Radnor House Sevenoaks as your chosen beneficiary.  Please note that you will need to make your purchase through Amazon Smile rather than the ordinary Amazon site, but you will be prompted to do this once registered.  We hope to get at least 100 families signed up to this 'win win' scheme this school year please!

Easyfundraising

We have already raised over £150 from this free scheme.  Like Amazon Smile it is incredibly easy to sign up and includes most of the most popular UK retailers.  This month we can raise TWICE as much as many participating retailers, (inc. John Lewis, notonthehighstreet, Shop Disney), are doubling their donations please join up here

Second Hand Uniform Shop

Almost £1000 has been raised from the second hand uniform shop just in the last few months, all of which goes to our school charities.  Thanks to everyone involved, especially to Penny Jackson.

With demand high the shop is looking for further unwanted uniform, especially senior school PE kit. You can send your donations into school via your child to be dropped off at Senior Reception or the Prep Office, and marked for the attention of Penny Jackson.  To purchase any item please email Penny directly on penelopeannjackson@hotmail.co.uk and she will select and leave your item at reception to be brought home with your child, where appropriate.  Penny will then contact you to arrange payment once you have approved it.

Friends of Radnor House AGM

Our annual AGM meeting will be held via zoom in late September, the date and link for the meeting will be flagged in this section.  We welcome all parents and staff who are interested in finding out  more about the role and achievements of FoRH7, and our goals for this school year.
