Oracy Day and Festival - A Final Reminder

As you will know, oracy has been, and will continue to be an important focus at Radnor House Sevenoaks. In its simplest form oracy can be defined as “the development of spoken language skills”.

During the school year the pupils have taken part in oracy activities in a variety of ways. They are familiar with the success criteria known as the oracy framework which is attached for you to read (Voice 21). They have learned to use this framework to judge their own and others’ abilities in oral tasks, to grade them from bronze to gold, and to identify areas for their own development.

To celebrate this work, we will be having our Second Annual Oracy Festival in the Performing Arts Theatre on Wednesday 19 June (refreshments will be served from 6pm with the Festival starting at 6.30pm).

Your children will be taking part in a variety of oral challenges on the preceding day (Oracy Day) and these will be showcased at the Festival. Pupils and parents will be informed of their inclusion in the Festival via InTouch email by 6pm on Tuesday 18 June. Please do reply via the Form on the email to let us know if you will be attending.

Do please come and join us to celebrate your children’s voices.

Performing Arts Timetables

The Performing Arts Timetables are available  here.  Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change.  Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom.  The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.

Any items which are unnamed and not claimed will be sent to the school uniform shop to be sold.  Any unnamed non-uniform items will be sent to a charity shop.
