Year 7 and 8 Gala Performance  'A Night at the Theatre'  - Action Required

Please see attached letter from Mr Packer regarding this fantastic evening.  We very much hope you will be able to join us and sit back and enjoy this glitzy and glamorous performance.

Parents from Prep and Senior are cordially invited to the RH7 Lower School Gala Performance, 'A Night at the Theatre', which is occurring on Tuesday 21 May and Wednesday 22 May in the Senior School Hall from 7.00pm-8.45pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for students in Years 7 and 8 to showcase their excellent musical and acting talent.  As the Year 7 Choir, Senior Choir, Concert Band and Drama Club are performing at this event, pupils involved in these clubs are expected to attend the performances on both evenings.

Parents who are unable to attend both performances should be aware that pick-up for those pupils in Concert Band is around 7.50pm.  Those pupils involved in the other clubs have a pick-up time of around 8.45pm.

The Year 7 and Year 8 exams will take place commencing Thursday 6 June.  Please find the Year 7 timetable here and the Year 8 timetable here, along with the school internal exam procedures found on the school website in the Examinations Section.

School exams are an important preparation for the final external exams and we encourage pupils to prepare fully and seriously for them.  We would be grateful for full parental support in this. Please ensure that you have read and fully understood the exam procedures information.

We wish Year 7 and 8 all the best in these exams.

Year 10 - '10 to Sixth' Day

As part of our Careers programme and support for each student we will be holding a '10 to Sixth' Day for the Year 10 students to encourage them to be looking forward to their Sixth Form subject options.  Sixth Form will be a wonderfully exciting time in their lives; they will learn a great deal and start on a path that will determine the person they become.  As part of that they will have the opportunity to try various Sixth Form subjects on the day to help them consider their future course choices.  Some of these will be new courses, e.g. Psychology, Politics, Economics and Philosophy & Ethics, whilst others will be subjects that they do already, but that change significantly at A level.  With the Careers work they are doing in PSHEE sessions and further careers support they will be receiving, I hope, they will be excited about these opportunities and specifically the chance to experience life in the Sixth Form and to grab the opportunity to see what is possible.  Further details will follow in next week's Bulletin.

Oracy Day and Festival - Tuesday 18 June and Wednesday 19 June

We will be holding our second annual Oracy Day on Tuesday 18 June. All pupils in the Senior School will take part in various activities throughout the day devoted to oracy.

On the evening of Wednesday 19 June, selected pupils will show off their oracy skills at our Oracy Festival in front of parents and pupils. Please do save the date!

This September, Radnor House Sevenoaks will host its inaugural Charity Triathlon.  It is an all age, all ability event with no experience necessary or expected.

We hope that all pupils will enter the event and that family members will come along to support and take part.  All pupils will receive house points and adults will have points given to their chosen house.  A cup will be awarded to the house who have the most points after the event.

The event is designed to be accessible to all, appropriately challenging and competitive for those who wish to make it so.  Junior distances range from 10-100m swim, 200m-2.2km cycle (grass) and 100m-1.2km run.  The adult race comprises a 150m swim, 8km cycle (road) and 2 km run.
