Thursday 5 March - World Book Day Prep Dress up as a Book Character Parade at morning drop off.

Friday 6 March  - Book Fair in the Senior Hall for all pupils (cash or cheque).  Pupils will be taken in classes; open to parents from 3:30pm.

3rd Annual Radnor House Golf Day - Sunday 14th June 2020.

Places are filling up fast for this year's Charity Golf Day on Sunday 14th June 2020. This year's event will take place at Farleigh Golf Club in Warlingham. This year's charity is MacMillan Cancer Support - a charity close to our hearts in the Prep School.

This year, we are inviting as many people as possible to attend, so if you are not a golfer, you will be still more than welcome to attend the dinner and raffle prize draw afterwards. Hopefully this will encourage families and friends to all come together to support this fantastic cause. We can cater for 104 golfers this year and and extra 46 for dinner afterwards.

If you are interested in being a part of the day, please can you fill out the feasibility form attached here. There is no obligation to take part once you have completed this form but it is important for me to gain an idea on initial numbers.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr Woodward (awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org).

Easter Fair Donations

To support Nightingale at the Easter Fair and raising money for charity, we are looking for donations of 'lucky dip' gifts.  This may include any form of stationery, books, bouncy balls, small soft toys, yoyos, sticker packs or any small toy/gift that would be appropriate for Prep Children in a lucky dip box.  Please can all donations be left under the Prep Arch on the table provided by Monday 16 March.  Thank you in advance.

500 Words Competition

BBC2 is holding a ‘500 words’ competition this year and it would be great to enter as many students as possible from Radnor House.  To enter, children need to create an original piece of fiction, on any theme, that is under 500 words (longer stories won’t be considered).  If your child is interested please submit their entry via email to Mr Veness or their class teacher by Wednesday 26 February.  This is a great chance to let your child’s imagination run wild.  The work must be their own and include their full name, age and region (entry is open to children aged between 5 and 13 on Friday 12 June 2020).

More details and rules for the competition can be found here.  Please make sure you read the rules before deciding to enter the competition.  Good luck and get writing!

Safeguarding in the Prep School

For the safeguarding protection of your children, commencing from Monday 24 February, the Prep School gates will close promptly at 8.20 am.  For the avoidance of any confusion, registration takes place at 8.20 am and therefore all children should be settled in their classes by this time and parents or carers should not be in the courtyard.  If you arrive at school after 8.20 am, please go straight to the office where you will need to register your child as late.  The Prep School gates will not be opened for entry after 8.20 am.

The Globe Theatre - A Midsummer Night's Dream - Tuesday 28th April 2020

Yesterday morning, a new batch of tickets for the Summer Schedule at the Globe Theatre were released. We have been fortunate enough to reserve seats to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Globe Theatre on the above date at 2pm. More details regarding cost and timings will be released after half term, but we plan on meeting at Sevenoaks Station in the morning and travelling to Cannon Street Station. From there, we will be walking to the Sky Garden for hot chocolate, croissants and taking in the amazing views of London (thanks to Mrs Beament). We will walk back for a trip around the Tate Modern before we have lunch and take our seats for the performance. We will then walk back to Cannon Street Station to make our way back to Sevenoaks.

This trip will be as well as the original trip to the Globe Theatre in March, which has already been added to your billing. This trip involves a tour of the Globe, a workshop and a sword fighting demonstration!

As mentioned, more details will be made available after half term regarding definite prices and timings. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email Mr Woodward (awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org).
