Recent Viral Social Media Story
Following recent media stories regarding a viral story being shared on social media, we feel it was a good opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of online safety with our parents. We have sought advice and would like to share the following information with parents and carers. Please read the attached letter from the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead, Esther Wright.
World Book Day Thursday 7 March
We have an activity packed day on Thursday 7 March to celebrate World Book Day! It will kick off with a parade, that parents are welcome and invited to watch, of all the book character themed costumes around the courtyard (weather permitting) at 8:20. There will be a mystery book swap during the day where pupils are encouraged to bring a book that they have read and that they think someone else will enjoy. They should wrap up their book in paper and write a short note describing the type of person that would enjoy it - remember not to reveal the title! We will also be launching a sponsored Readathon, with the money raised going to provide books and story tellers to the UK’s major children’s hospitals (more information can be found at https://readforgood.org/). Finally, the theme for this year’s day is ‘Share a Story'.
Phonics Coffee Morning
Thank you to all those who attended our phonics coffee morning and your input throughout the session. I have attached, for your information here is the presentation from the workshop. Along with the "share a story letter". If you have any further queries, please contact me in person or by email (email@example.com).
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
Music Lesson Information
Mr Valentine will not be in school next week (4-8 March). This means he will not be teaching his private pupils or running his clubs. New pupils will be included on an updated timetable so please keep an eye on notice boards and next week's Bulletin.
Collection of other parents' children
Please be reminded that if you have asked another parent or carer to collect your child/ren on your behalf, please could you ensure that you have emailed the Prep Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) and your class teacher advising them that you will not be collecting, and also please could you provide in your email and to the person collecting, a password (of your choice) that will be requested before we can release your child to another parent or carer. Thank you for your assistance.
Please be advised that we have had a new phone system installed over half term and whilst it is working well, it is not yet working without a few minor teething problems. Please bear with us while we work on these. Also, when you call in there will no longer be any music playing whilst you are put on hold and waiting to be transferred.
