The Gresham Speaking Competition
The Gresham Speaking Competition
We are delighted that two of our Sixth Form students, Natascha Leach and Harrison Kirby, received a special mention and commendation in the Gresham Speaking Competition on the topic of the Environment.
The prestigious public presentation competition for students in Year 12 promotes the art of communicating complex information in a clear, concise and compelling way. Students were asked to submit a five-minute, recorded presentation on a given topic. The focus of the competition is to support the development of oracy skills; help students with UCAS applications and job interviews and promotes a deeper understanding of the topic discussed. It also introduces students to the inspiring research of world-class academia.
It was fantastic for our students to seize this opportunity and they were particularly praised for the quality of their research on the issue, their oracy and presentation skills, and the quality of their overall arguments. Well done both!
