Make a Difference Day (MaDD) is fast approaching!

On Wednesday 2 October 2019, the entire school will be working with a wide variety of charities, local businesses and individuals within our community. MaDD was set up in 2016 with the belief that there is no better way to engage with and integrate into the local community than for the whole school to venture out and actively work with others.

Students will be helping to look after the environment by litter picking on Brighton beach and helping at Foal Farm, Oldbury Hill, River Darent and Ightham Mote.

Charities such as Leonard Cheshire, Hospice in the Weald, West Kent Mind, Pepenbury and Demelza House will also be welcoming our pupils.

We will also be inviting some elderly members of our community to our school for a lovely tea party!

Head, David Paton, said “This is a huge event which we are very proud to run it for the fourth year at Radnor House, Sevenoaks.  The significance of community involvement cannot be overstated and providing well over 3000 hours of volunteering on one day is something very special and hopefully transformative.  One of our schools’ central values is Respect and through MaDD we hope to instill meaningful respect for and understanding of our society’s needs in all our pupils.”
