ISA U11 Mixed Hockey Champions

Mr Morton, Director of Hockey, and Mrs Blackman, Head of Prep PE.

The mixed U11 hockey team enjoyed a superb afternoon at the ISA hockey tournament, hosted by Weston Green at Old Cranleighans.

After a 0-0 start v Lingfield College, Radnor House went from strength to strength, winning their next matches against Weston Green, The Mead, Wandsworth Prep and St Christophers without conceding a single goal. With ever increasing momentum and goals scored in the quarter and semi-finals, we found ourselves facing Lingfield again in the finals. After 10 minutes of super hockey, and a number of chances, the final score was again 0-0, so penalty shuffles it was.

Each team selected 3 penalty takers, and with Lingfield up first, the pressure was on. An incredible save by our GK Lauren was a super start, but we had to score! Unfortunately it was not to be for the first 2 penalties and we found ourselves in a tie. The final of the penalties was taken by Lingfield, only to once again be saved by Lauren. The win was within touching distance... Toby P kept cool under pressure, outwitting the Lingfield GK to find the back of the net. An incredibly excited Radnor House team went tearing onto the pitch, and that as they say, was that! What a fantastic day for our team; huge congratulations to Toby A, Toby P, Marco E, Mason M, Lizzie B, Willow H, Lauren T, Alexa M and Charlie L.
