Eggcellent e-Easter Camp for Radnor House Pupils

Each weekday throughout the holidays, teachers set a number of challenges and activities and connected with everyone who wanted to take part in them via Microsoft Teams.

Before the Easter holidays started this year, the teaching team knew many  pupils' families would be worried about how they were going to occupy their children for two weeks after Easter plans were cancelled due to the Corona Situation.  Most parents were working from home and some in highly challenging circumstances. At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we understood this and wanted to support families as much as they could whilst also caring for our hardworking staff.  Therefore, we came up with a free online activities programme over the entire Easter break.

In the Prep school, den building showed off impressive building skills of both indoor and outdoor dens fit for reading or marshmallow toasting on the first day. For the rest of the holiday, the children made desk tidies, completed a camouflage challenge, built bridges out of items they could find around the house and baked cakes for their teachers who had birthdays in the holiday...to name but a few activities!

Senior pupils were tasked with making their own mini 'garden', designing their own sport (Scooball looked like a promising addition to the Olympics!), baking Bakewell tarts, making upcycled 'creatures', constructing presentations in French or Spanish and creating posters for books, which they excelled at.

In response to our Prep School staff's motivational videos, our Year 3, Year 4 and Year 6 classes made outstanding videos which  which left all the staff at school feeling very proud (and very emotional!)

‘Thank you and the staff for taking all the time during the holidays to prepare for the return to school on the 15th April. We are so impressed with everything the school is doing. The boys have loved the daily challenges too and we have been eagerly logging on to see what the day brings’
