A fundraising celebration

Today we celebrated this year's fundraising efforts for our local, national and international charities by presenting cheques to members from our chosen charities and hearing from them about how this money has already helped their amazing work.

Our local charities West Kent Mind, Bradbourne Riding for the Disabled, Foal Farm and Leonard Cheshire each had upwards of £4,000 donated to them- an amount set to make a huge difference.

We heard a moving story from those at Leonard Cheshire who spoke about how some of the money raised went to running ice skating for their residents- thoroughly proving that disability can't hold you back from doing what you enjoy!

There was a massive £2,000 raised for our national charity- the RSPCA and Project Le Monde, our international charity, received £1,360. The money raised for Project Le Monde was coupled with 3 of our students visiting our partner school, Radnor House Namakoko, Uganda. The students helped plant a kitchen garden, build a shelter for the nightwatchman and a kitchen at the school while they were there in October half term.

As is tradition, we change our national charity each year and this year our students voted for MacMillan Cancer Support as our 2019-20 national charity to raise money for.

Well done to all those involved in our numerous fundraising events throughout the year, we look forward to another successful year of charity.
