Radnor House Sevenoaks is an independent co-educational day school for pupils aged 11–18, set within a beautiful 20-acre campus on the edge of Sevenoaks. We are an ambitious and forward-thinking school with a strong academic ethos, excellent pastoral care and a rich co-curricular programme.

We are seeking to appoint a proactive and customer-focused IT Technician to join our IT Team. This is an important frontline role, supporting staff, students and other users to ensure IT systems, equipment and services operate effectively across the School. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide reliable first- and second-line technical support to staff, students and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to IT support requests through the service desk, email, telephone or in person, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised and resolved appropriately.
  • Set up, configure and maintain devices, interactive TVs, audio-visual equipment, printers and other peripheral devices.
  • Support the maintenance of Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, user accounts, permissions and other school systems.
  • Assist with IT projects, upgrades, device deployments, system changes and planned maintenance.
  • Support the preparation and operation of IT equipment for examinations, assessments, school events and INSET.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to IT assets, stock, repairs, loans and device bookings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the School, including the Data Manager where support is required in relation to school information systems and associated technologies.
  • Be willing to work outside normal school hours from time to time to support maintenance, upgrades, examinations, events or emergency incidents where required.
     

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has experience of providing first line and/or second line technical support in a school, education setting or similar customer-focused environment.
  • Has good working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple devices, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, user accounts, permissions and common desktop applications.
  • Understands basic networking principles, including Wi-Fi, printing, connectivity, hardware troubleshooting and peripheral devices.
  • Has experience with Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID and Intune, or is willing to develop further experience in these areas.
  • Can communicate clearly with non-technical users and provide a professional, helpful and approachable service.
  • Is organised, calm under pressure and able to prioritise competing support requests.
  • Has a clear understanding of confidentiality, data protection, cyber security, online safety and acceptable use in a school environment.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
