The Purpose of the Role

Radnor House Sevenoaks is seeking a passionate and talented peripatetic piano teacher to join our thriving music department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled musician and educator to inspire pupils across a range of ages and abilities in a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one piano lessons to pupils from KS2 to Sixth Form.
  • Prepare students for performances, exams (ABRSM, Trinity, etc.) and competitions.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and the Head of Music regarding progress and scheduling.
  • Contribute to the musical life of the school, including concerts and events where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Able to teach Graded piano exams across all major boards with theory knowledge up to Grade 8 standard. 
  • Proven experience teaching piano to children and young people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to tailor lessons to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Self-employed status with appropriate insurance and safeguarding training.
