    We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and committed HR Assistant to provide efficient and effective support to the HR function at Radnor House Sevenoaks School. Preferably you would have experience in a similar role, however training will be provided. We are looking for a self-starter, with drive and energy, who can support the HR department and manage a busy and varied workload.

  • Director of Finance and Operations

    Director of Finance and Resources

    Radnor House Sevenoaks is a fast-growing independent co-educational day school educating up to 650 pupils aged 2-18. Located on a beautiful and historic site close to the town of Sevenoaks, Kent, the school was originally founded in 1924 as Combe Bank School before being acquired by Radnor House in 2015. Radnor House Sevenoaks is divided into two sections: Prep School (2-11) and Senior School (11- 18) although the emphasis is on providing a 2–18 continuum as pupils progress through each stage of their education.

    This role, which is the most senior support staff position in the school, is an important strategic appointment. The Director of Finance and Operations will be closely involved in the school’s strategic planning and the delivery of its operational excellence. Reporting to the head as a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT), you are responsible for the major functions of Finance, HR, Estates, IT, Catering, Transport, and external commercial programmes.

    We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking colleague with significant experience leading support functions within a School environment or a similar role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead well-resourced and highly collaborative teams.

    The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, with significant experience in implementing strategic change in an independent school or commercial organisation.

  • Curriculum Lead for Drama, Prep - Maternity Cover

    The Curriculum Lead for Drama, Prep leads the delivery of high-quality teaching to pupils within the Prep School (up to KS2), and senior school (up to KS3) enabling pupils to experience and participate in a range of Drama opportunities both within and beyond the curriculum.  To be a passionate teacher of Drama with a keen interest in curriculum and classroom improvement and development at a whole school level.

    Qualifications:

    • A Degree in Drama or equivalent subject
    • Qualified Teacher Status - a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is preferable
    • Qualified to teach Drama up to KS3 (up to KS5 would be preferable)

    The Purpose of the Role

    The school wishes to appoint an additional Exams Invigilator, during our peak exam times, to join our thriving School to conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Radnor House Sevenoaks instructions. 

    Training and Qualifications Required

    Experience is not required, as training will be provided, although applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.  We are looking for people who are flexible, have effective communication skills and able to be a confident and reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms.

    The Purpose of the Role

    The school wishes to appoint a Premises Assistant to support the Premises Manger in the maintenance, security, and general smooth running of the school grounds, working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team.

    This is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours per week (with a one-hour unpaid lunch break) Monday to Friday, all year round with occasional evening work. The successful candidate will need to work flexibly, including some weekends when required.

    The work will involve maintenance duties including carrying out of minor building works and decoration, assisting with the operation and maintenance of the swimming pool and heating system, assisting with the safety and security of the school premises, setting up facilities by moving furniture and equipment, carrying out car parking duties on special occasions and undertaking any cleaning work as required.  Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical and building skills is essential.  Experience in a school or similar environment would be a great advantage.

    The Purpose of the Role

    Radnor House Sevenoaks has an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Apprentice to join the Estates Team.  The successful candidate will support the Grounds Manger in the maintenance, conservation, and enhancement of the school grounds, working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team. As part of the role, the apprentice will undergo a level 2 apprenticeship scheme at Hadlow College lasting 24 months. This is a full-time position with one day per week at college during term-time.

    We require a candidate who can:

    • manage and develop working relations for the faculty and with other colleagues

    • work positively and constructively within their team and with other colleagues

    • think creatively and imaginatively, investigate, solve problems, and identify opportunities

  • Guitar Specialist Teacher

    We are currently seeking a specialist teacher capable of delivering high-quality individual lessons in acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass to pupils across the age-range (6-18) and abilities at Radnor House.  

    The successful applicant will join a committed team of full and part time peripatetic teachers dedicated to supporting our young artists from the ages of 6-18 and will be qualified to teach from beginner to advanced level.

    The role also includes the expectation to run an ensemble or other music activity throughout our co-curricular programme during lunch or after school.

    The successful applicant would work on a self-employed basis earning £41.50 per hour.  We are flexible with the teaching days; the current pupil list requires two days of teaching from 8.20am until 2pm.

  • Speech and Drama Specialist Teacher

    Role: Speech and Drama Specialist Teacher

    We are currently seeking a specialist peripatetic teacher capable of delivering high-quality individual, pair and group lessons in Speech and Drama to our senior school pupils (aged 11-18) at Radnor House. We currently deliver LAMDA but are happy to work with other exam boards. 

    The successful applicant will join a committed team of full and part time peripatetic teachers dedicated to supporting our Performing Arts pupils and will be qualified to teach across all abilities.

    The role also includes the expectation to run a Speech and Drama related Co-curricular club in the senior school during a lunchtime or as an after-school provision.

    The successful applicant would work on a self-employed basis earning £20.75 per half hour for one-to-one private lessons. We are flexible with the teaching day; the current pupil list requires one full day of teaching, but this could be spread over two half-days if more suitable for the right candidate.

    Radnor House Sevenoaks adopts a gender neutral approach to sport which has football, hockey, cricket and swimming as our focus sports for both boys and girls. The post is suitable for a person who is a talented and passionate all-round sportsperson and teacher who wishes to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking school .

    The Candidate:

    The successful candidate will ideally possess high skill levels and knowledge in at least two of the following sports: swimming, football, hockey, cricket or strength and conditioning. Knowledge and experience in netball, rugby, basketball, tennis or athletics could also be advantageous or as an alternative to one of our focus sports. It will be expected that the successful candidate with have the knowledge and skills to teach academic PE at least up to GCSE level. There may be the opportunity to take additional responsibility for some of the school’s minor sports.

  • Director of Football

    This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the football programmes for boys and girls at Radnor House Sevenoaks. The Director of Football will work closely with the Director of Sport, Head of Prep PE and the Directors of Hockey, Cricket and Swimming in developing the school’s sports programme with a special focus on leading the football programme. 

    The sport at Radnor House Sevenoaks is at an exciting time because of growth in pupil numbers and significant investment in sports facilities and staffing. In football we have seen huge growth in performance and participation since starting the full boys and girls programmes just over three years ago. Various boys and girls' teams have gained tournament success which includes winning multiple ISA events and several pupils play for professional football clubs academies and teams.

    Football is the focus sport for boys in the Michaelmas term and in the Lent term for girls. In addition, we run a pre-season term for both and girls in the term preceding to offer two terms of football for our pupils. Significant potential exists to develop football at Radnor House Sevenoaks further with its investment in facilities, staffing and its links with surrounding clubs. The Director of football will enjoy the support of a strong and experienced team of PE teachers and coaches. The school has its own football pitches along with use of the Sundridge Recreational ground which two full size football pitches and practice areas.

    In addition to football coaching, an ability to coach cricket to a good standard during the summer term would be advantageous and experience teaching core and or academic PE would be desirable, and the teaching of core PE will form part of the role.

    An exciting position is offered to join the sports team at Radnor House Sevenoaks as a Graduate Sports Assistant on a fixed-term contract from 1st September 2023 until 4th July 2025.  The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, term time only, the exact work pattern will be agreed at interview.

    Radnor House Sevenoaks adopt a gender-neutral approach to sport which has football, hockey, cricket and swimming as our focus sports for both boys and girls. This post is suitable for a person who is a talented and passionate all-round sportsperson, who wishes to develop their coaching skills or become a PE teacher.

    The Candidate:

    The successful candidate will ideally possess high competencies and knowledge in at least two of the following sports: swimming, football, hockey, cricket or strength and conditioning.

    Knowledge and experience in netball, rugby, basketball or athletics could also be advantageous or as an alternative to one of our focus sports.

    Holding lifeguarding qualifications, experience of coaching, and working with young athletes would be desirable.

    Candidates with NGB qualifications in an Adventurous activity would be desirable, but not essential.  An appreciation for the outdoors and keenness to develop and immerse themselves in the role is vital.
