Awards in Celebration Assembly

Congratulations to the prep children whose achievements we celebrated in our Celebration assembly on Monday.  Please click here for the full list of awards given.

If your child has achieved something exciting outside of school in a club or activity that they participate in, please invite them to share it with the Prep School during our weekly Celebration Assembly on Mondays by sending any information to Dr Margrett: emargrett@radnor-sevenoaks.org.

Use of Show My Homework, Tapestry, Class Notebooks and Teams.

Moving forwards, our homework for children in Years 3-6 will be set on 'Show My Homework' but the teacher will have placed all the necessary resources and instructions for the completion of the task into your child's online Class Notebook. This is accessible through their Office 365 account in the OneNote application; it is here that the children will be expected to complete their learning.  The teacher can access this learning electronically from their device without the need for work being printed out by either the child or the teacher.  Teachers in Pre-Prep will continue to share updates on your children’s learning using Tapestry.

As we are not learning remotely, the use of Teams at this point will be minimal and will only come back into full effect if we return to remote teaching.  Teams is an application that works alongside OneNote, but the children do not need to use Teams for homework.  The chat facility on Teams has been disabled and the children have been asked to not post messages unless requested by their teacher as part of their learning as this is not needed when they are having face to face lessons in the classroom.

We will be removing all guest users from our Teams groups in all year groups including Pre-Prep. We request that if you need to contact your child’s class teacher that you please do so by email.  Please be reassured that if we must revert to remote teaching that we will add our parents back into the necessary groups.

Arrival of Pupils in the Morning

Please can we remind parents that your children should not be coming up to the Prep School until 8am unless they are booked into Breakfast Club.  We do not open the doors to the main school until 8am when the teachers are available to receive your children and we do not want the children to be congregating in groups outside of the Prep where they risk compromising bubbles before they are let into the building.  Staff are not officially on duty until 8am, so if your child arrives before that time they are not supervised.

Prep Parent Consultations, Week Commencing Monday 12 October

This year we are running parent consultations in a different format.  Class teachers have been asked to suggest times during the afternoons and evenings of the week commencing 12 October from 4.45pm onwards which work with their family schedule.  Meetings will be held via Teams and you will be able to book a suitable 10-minute timeslot. The booking system and time slots will be in next week's Bulletin.

If you have a specific question or concern and would like to meet via Teams with Mr Woodward,  Mrs Spencer, or Dr Margrett, please contact the Prep Office who will make an appointment for you.

Weekly Menu

Please see attached the Lunch Menu for the rest of this week and also attached the menu for the whole of next week.

Nessy

Several children who have previously used the Nessy programme have been asking when it will start up again.  We are hoping to resume our group Nessy sessions in school as soon as possible.  In the meantime, registered users can continue to access the programme at home.  Please contact Emma Duncan (eduncan@radnor-sevenoaks.org) if your child has any difficulties logging on from home.

Library Books Plea

Please can all parents/guardians check for any school library books at home and return them with pupils to their form rooms as soon as possible.  Many books on loan have not been returned since lockdown and it would be great if these were brought back in order for them to be back in use.  Thank you for your help.  Mrs Lambert

Hangers required for the Second Hand Uniform Shop

The Second Hand Uniform Shop is running short of hangers.  If you have any spare, please can you send these in with your child/ren.  There will be boxes left for donations outside the Prep School under the arch and one in the foyer of the Senior School.  Many thanks for your support.

Dogs on site

Please be mindful that dogs are not allowed on the RH7 site.  This includes the school car parks.

Annual General Meeting  - Monday 5 October @ 8pm

Our AGM will be held remotely on the above date via Zoom.  All parents are members of Friends, and you are most welcome to attend to hear more about our 2019/2020 results and how the charity is evolving.  It's also a great opportunity to ask any questions and share any ideas you may have on our aims and governance.  Please email us if you will be attending, and we will send you the agenda, link and key documents in advance.

Loose Change Collection

Thanks to all those who collected loose change for their house during home schooling, we really do appreciate all your efforts!  We are unable to collect the loose change from school at the moment so please contact us if you’d either like to pay the money into our account, or arrange another means of collection.  It's amazing how much loose change can add up, so please keep on collecting.

My Name Tags

This company produces really nice name labels – stick or iron on.  We have a school ID number 72100 – if you refer to our number on your order we will receive 24% of the order total.  They ask that the number be used please rather than the school name.  Click here to access the website.

Second Hand Uniform

Thank you for your amazing response to our request for more uniforms.  With stocks now replenished if you require any second hand uniform please contact Penny Jackson by email penelopeannjackson@hotmail.co.uk and she will do her best to assist you.

Amazon Smile

Don't forget that we are now registered to receive donations (0.5% of the net purchase price), from eligible purchases as you shop via Amazon UK.  It's easy to start donating by clicking here, and selecting Friends of Radnor House Sevenoaks as your chosen beneficiary.  Please note that you will need to make your purchase through Amazon Smile rather than the ordinary Amazon site, but you will be prompted to do this once registered.  We hope to get at least 100 families signed up to this 'win win' scheme this school year please!

Easyfundraising

This month we can raise TWICE as much, as many participating retailers (inc. John Lewis, notonthehighstreet, Shop Disney) are doubling their donations.  Join up here.
