Health Declaration Form
Please can the attached be completed by Sunday 1 November. This is required for all pupils back in school from Monday 2 November. Thank you.
Arrival of Pupils in the Morning
Please can we remind parents that your children should not be coming to the Prep School until 8am unless they are booked into Breakfast Club. We do not open the doors to the main school until 8am when the teachers are available to receive your children. We do not want the children to be congregating in groups outside of the Prep School where they risk compromising bubbles before they are let into the building. Staff are not officially on duty until 8am, so if your child arrives before that time they will not supervised.
You may have noticed that we are getting closer to the time when we would usually celebrate Harvest by inviting the children to come into school with a donation of food which we would then pass on to a local charity. Given the current situation with Covid and the fact that we are only able to complete assemblies by Teams, we would like to celebrate Harvest a little differently this year. Whilst we still want to recognise and help those in need in our local area, it is not really sensible to ask the children to bring in a donation. Instead, we would ask you to consider giving a donation to your local food bank. Whilst you are handing in your donation, please take a photo of your child with their donation, and we will create a photo collage of all of the children doing something special for others. It would appear that the Food Bank has a mountain of pasta! To see what donations they would like to receive, please click here. Additionally, many supermarkets also have collections by their check out points.
Awards in Celebration Assembly
Congratulations to the prep children whose achievements we celebrated in our Celebration assembly on Monday. Please click here for the full list of awards given. If your child has achieved something exciting outside of school in a club or activity that they participate in, please invite them to share it with the Prep School during our weekly Celebration Assembly on Mondays by sending any information to Dr Margrett: firstname.lastname@example.org.
World Mental Health Day
On Friday, across the whole school we celebrated World Mental Health Day. Some of us wore yellow to support the 'Hello Yellow' message, which was great to see. We had an informative assembly about mental health along with lesson discussions on how important it is to look after your mental health. Please see attached "what mental health is" here and some "coping strategies to ensure your brain is kept healthy during these challenging times" here. Look after yourselves and remember we are all in this together, so please do get in touch with us if you need any support.
After School Sports Clubs
You will be aware that we have started an extensive programme of after school sports clubs in the past couple of weeks. As the weather turns wetter, it may be that some clubs will need to be cancelled in part or in full on the day of the club. Although we have our large Sports Hall, we are still working to keep class bubbles separate and should we need to move inside it may mean that we cannot accommodate all of the children for the club at one time whilst maintaining the integrity of the bubbles. We will therefore aim to make a decision by midday on the day of any sports clubs, and inform parents via a School Post message if we need to cancel the activity for some or all children. If we have to reduce the number of children attending the club to allow the club to continue inside, we will ensure that we do this on a rotational basis. Parents of Prep children who are due to attend a sports club which is cancelled will be given the opportunity for their child to attend homework club if childcare is needed.
When the children return after half term, it is the expectation that they will be wearing their winter uniform with the following adaptations: no ties, trainers to be worn instead of school shoes and PE kit to be worn on the days that children have sport during the day or after school.

Unfortunately due to Coronavirus restrictions we will not be able to hold our annual Fireworks Event but we are running our annual Pumpkin Carving Competition remotely. Please see details attached.
During half term we would ask that any child that wishes to, carves and creates their own design of Pumpkin and then sends a picture of themselves with their creation to email@example.com. The cost to enter is £2 which please could you pay directly to your house charity by following this link
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and all entries will be judged by Mr Halliwell! We cannot wait to see your wonderful creations - Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
Christmas Merchandise for Gifts - Update
Unfortunately, due to COVID and Bubble restrictions in school we will be unable to run a Christmas Fair in the Prep School this year.
We are very keen that all children participate in Christmas activities which also raise funds for our house and parent and staff nominated national charities.
We are therefore working with the children to create artwork which they will be able to have printed onto tea towels, canvas tote bags and Christmas cards which you will be able to buy as gifts for family and friends and show off your children's artistic skills!
The whole Prep School will be designing a tea-towel, with every child contributing their own piece of artwork. The cost of the tea towels to purchase will be £6.50 each or 3 for £15
Then individually, each child will create a piece of artwork to be printed onto a canvas tote bag priced at £10 each.
A different design will be created by each child to be printed on a pack of 4 Christmas cards with their name printed on the back at a cost of £4 per pack or 3 packs for £10.
To enable us to ensure that orders are received before Christmas, we need to collate orders before half term. If you would like to order any of the above items, please do complete and submit this form by tomorrow Thursday 15 October and we will then contact you with details of how you can make payment.

Second Hand Uniform
As many of you know, up until now, the Second Hand Uniform Shop has been run fantastically by Penny Jackson, but as she is no longer a parent of the school, we thought it was time for her to be able to hang up her tags and clothes hangers and hand it back over to the school! We'd like to thank Penny for her incredible commitment to the school and for making the Second Hand Uniform Shop such a success. Thank you, Penny, from all of us at Radnor House. We will have a dedicated email for all orders from Monday 2 November 2020 which is firstname.lastname@example.org
Please use this address for Second Hand requests and we will endeavour to check stock and respond within 24 hours Monday-Friday. You will be sent an invoice once we have confirmed that we have the item and your order will be left in the Senior School porch.
