Health Declaration Form

Please can we ask that the Health Declaration Form is completed and submitted by Monday 4 January.  Please find the link here

Pastoral Review

This year we are completing a review of the pastoral care provided at Radnor.  As an opening exercise, we are asking all three stakeholders (staff, parents and pupils) to complete this questionnaire. This one is for the parents.

Thank you to those who have already completed it.

Stomach Bugs and Sickness

Please could we remind parents that if a child is unwell with an upset tummy or sickness that they must not attend school again until 48 hours after their last loose motion or sickness episode.  Even more so in times of COVID it is important that this is adhered to.

Awards in Celebration Assembly

Congratulations to the prep children whose achievements we celebrated in our Celebration assembly on Monday.  Please click here for the full list of awards given.

If your child has achieved something exciting outside of school in a club or activity that they participate in, please invite them to share it with the Prep School during our weekly Celebration Assembly on Mondays by sending any information to Dr Margrett: emargrett@radnor-sevenoaks.org.

RH7 Co-Curricular Spring 2021

This has been a term like no other and I hope you will join me in firstly thanking all the staff at Radnor House Sevenoaks for restarting and maintaining such a strong co-curricular programme throughout the Autumn. It is notable that, despite the year group bubble restrictions, the dedication of staff has meant that we are delivering a similar volume of clubs as usual, although the experience is clearly different.

Please find attached here the full list of Co-Curricular Clubs and Activities for the Spring Term 2021. It is important to note that, similar to the Autumn term, only the after-school clubs will appear on SOCS Co-Curricular. The lunchtime clubs will continue to run throughout the term, and students should attend regularly, but these will not appear on SOCS. The clubs should be accurate at the current time, although there may be a few alterations prior to the start of the Spring Term.

For the after-school clubs and Wrap Care, SOCS sign-up will open at 6pm on Thursday 10 December and it will close again at 6pm on Wednesday 16 December.

During the sign-up window, pupils can be added or removed from clubs or Wrap Care.  After the sign-up window has closed, pupils may still be added to clubs but cannot be removed (unless requested).

Please can I ask that parents do not sign their child up to any clubs without their agreed consent- it is vital that they select clubs that they wish to attend.

It is very important that parents and pupils try their SOCS login before the sign-up window to ensure that it is working and there are no login issues.

SOCS Sign-Up

A reminder of the process in order to login to SOCS Co-Curricular:

Please follow the link here.

The login page asks you for the name of the school.  Make sure you click on Radnor House Sevenoaks (not Twickenham).  Your username is your son/ daughters school email address: eg. joseph.bloggs@radnor-sevenoaks.org

Your generic password will be sent out separately.

Once you have logged in, I would advise that you alter your password, via 'Settings' and write it down to remember it.

It is also important to note that if a club is listed as FULL for the term, you should email activities@radnor-sevenoaks.org to request to be placed on the waiting list.  Your child will be given a place for the following term.

It is also worth noting that if a club is very under-subscribed, it may not run.  In the event of this occurring, the pupils and parents will be informed.

Clubs will start again in the Spring Term on Tuesday 5 January which is the first day of term.

If you have any queries about the Co-Curricular clubs, please email Mr. T Green, Assistant Head Co-Curricular at activities@radnor-sevenoaks.org

Christmas Jumper Day

Don’t forget Christmas Jumper day on Friday 11 December.  We will be raising funds for our school charities and Save the children.  The suggested donation is £2 which can be brought in as cash on the day or you can donate by following the link here.

Attendance Records

The reason for the disparity in your child’s attendance records at this current time is that the MSP has only two ways of showing attendance ‘Authorised’ and ‘Unauthorised’.  It doesn’t have any other fields than this.  When we look at our actual school internal register we have multiple ways of recording the actual attendance rather than just the two.  So for example, in the current circumstances, Government guidelines state that any form of Covid isolation is recorded in a slightly different way.  The absence is still authorised by the school however the way this is entered for internal reporting differs.  Sadly, MSP cannot make that differentiation at present and so just lists ‘Unauthorised’.  Please rest assured that our central register is accurate and this is the main source of reference if required.

Reading for Pleasure this Christmas

As parents, one of the most important gifts we can give our children is the pleasure of reading.  It is important that we continue to be reading role models throughout our children's school lives, not just when they are learning to read.  Children and teenagers are never too old to be read to, or to share a good book with, or to talk about books with.  So, this Christmas, we are asking families to share a good book together and to share the magic of reading with us, please see attached

Happy Christmas and Happy Reading!
