Supporting Resilience

Kent Resilience Hub has created a resource that helps young people, parents/carers and practitioners to understand emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Presented by HeadStart Kent and Draw Your Own Solution, these short videos are a must watch for any parent in Kent to learn about how to support their child to be resilient and how to be a resilient parent themselves.

Each video covers a topic on how to build resilience.  Click the links below to view a specific video, or click on the website here to view them all and read more about the Kent Resilience support hub.

Anti-Bullying Week 2020 Monday 16 November - Friday 20 November "United Against Bullying"

Every November schools throughout the United Kingdom take part in Anti-Bullying Week.  This is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on bullying and consider the steps we can take together to stop it.  At Radnor House we will be holding anti-bullying assemblies and following up with activities in class.

As a parent or carer, you are a vital piece of the puzzle in tackling bullying.  You have a unique role to play in guiding and supporting your child through their school years and there are lots of positive steps you can take to help keep your child safe from bullying and harm.  One of the steps is knowing when to ask for support.  Radnor House Sevenoaks has an anti-bullying policy that can be found on our website here.

To support anti-bullying week, the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Kidscape have also put together a parent toolkit designed to give you information about bullying, tips about what to do if you’re worried about bullying and the tools to help you talk to your children about bullying, please click here to visit the site.

Odd Socks Day?

Odd Socks Day is part of Anti-Bullying Week!  To celebrate that we are all unique, we ask that all pupils and staff wear odd socks to school on Monday 16 November.  The day sends an important message that we should all be allowed to be ourselves free from bullying and helps us celebrate Anti-Bullying Week in a fun and positive way.  If families wish to support the work of the Anti-Bullying Alliance by making a financial contribution, please follow the link here.  There are a number of different ways that donations can be made, including via an online Virgin Money Giving site.  Every penny goes to the Anti-Bullying Alliance to help continue all their work.  Click here to read the Odd Socks Day flyer.

URGENT - Flu Immunisation Wednesday 25 November

Please may we remind parents to be proactive and register your consent/non-consent for your child/ren to have the above flu immunisation by clicking on the link here (taking you to the NHS letter inviting you to respond to this invitation with clear instructions).  The NHS have not had as many responses as they would have liked and it is imperative for parents to register their wishes in this matter.  If your child has already had the flu immunisation outside of school or if you do not wish for your child/ren to have this immunisation in school, we urge you to log this wish immediately via this NHS link letter.  This is as important as parents logging their consent for their child/ren to have the immunisation.  Many thanks for your help in this matter it is much appreciated.  Medical Team

Barvember 2020

It has been a successful first week of Barvember 2020 with wonderful mathematical, and hardworking prize winners in Years 1, 4 and 5, and the second week continues!  We have loved seeing your fantastic bar models and solutions and look forward to seeing even more!  The children will continue to receive a Barvember challenge, (which contains two questions), either on their OneNote, (for Years 3-6), or on Tapestry, (for Years R, 1 and 2).  They will receive a dojo point for trying and if they get both of their questions correct, they will be entered into the weekly prize draw!  There will still be a parent challenge to get stuck into as well!  Please may we ask that all solutions are completed on OneNote or Tapestry as the children cannot be bringing in sheets of paper from home.

Please continue to post your solutions on our Twitter page, (this can be a picture of you next to your solution on a device or just a picture of your Barvember solution), and tag @rh7prepmaths and @WhiteRoseMaths.  There will be one lucky prize winner each week for Twitter entries to!
