Healthy Living

The evidence of the benefits of a healthy physical and mental lifestyle on learning is overwhelming.  For this reason, we seek to ensure that physical activity in the form of sport and adventure is a cornerstone of our educational provision.  Beyond the obvious physical benefits, these pursuits enable our pupils to grow in many ways as they forge their characters in preparation for future challenges.

The school kitchen also strives to provide a plentiful, varied and nutritious menu.  You will be aware that the school has to be strict on food brought into school owing to the risk of dangerous allergic reactions to certain food types.  I wish, however, to clarify the expectations regarding snacks your children may wish to bring to school.  We are very happy for pupils to bring fresh fruit or vegetable snacks to school to be eaten at break or lunchtime.  This applies to both Prep and Senior School.  Please allow me to remind you that the school provides a plentiful supply of fresh fruit for pupils free of charge in both Prep and Senior School, so no one should be missing out on their "five a day"!

Only when they have met their physiological needs will we be able to support your children to pursue more lofty goals as they seek to reflect our values in all aspects of their lives.

Year 10, 11 and Sixth Form Network Evening on Thursday 5 March 2020

We will be holding our Careers Network Evening Event from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.  This has proved a very successful and popular event for our Year 10, 11 and Sixth Form students to gain awareness and careers guidance from a wide range of professionals in different industries. The evening is designed to be a relatively informal, networking style event to allow our students to meet with adults and discuss their various careers.  To make these evening as successful and useful as possible we need as many volunteers as we can from our parents who are willing to give up their time and help provide some advice and guidance.  If you are willing to take part please email Emma Hanrott  at ehanrott@radnor-sevenoaks.org so that we can provide you with further details.

Work Experience

All of our Year 11 and Year 12 Pupils will be enjoying the opportunity of work experience during the week of Monday 22 June - Friday 26 June.

We are trying to build up a database of employers who would be willing to host a work experience pupil for a week.  If you or your business would be able to give work experience please contact Mrs Read - Head of Careers pread@radnor-sevenoaks.org

Science Week - Monday 9 March to Friday 13 March

This year’s Science Week theme is ‘Our Diverse Planet.’  In the Prep School I would like to look at the diversity of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) careers that are available and also careers that use science in less obvious ways for example chefs.  To help do this, I’m asking if any parents involved in these industries could send me a picture of them at work and a few sentences about how they use science in their job.  If you would be interested in coming and talking to different classes it would be great to hear from you.  My email to send pictures and for getting in touch about coming in to talk is cmcneely@radnor-sevenoaks.org.  Many thanks in advance, Chloe McNeely

3rd Annual Radnor House Golf Day - Sunday 14 June 2020

After the huge success of previous events where we have raised £4500 for our school charities, we are looking to hold our 3rd Radnor Charity Golf Day on Sunday 14 June 2020.  This year's event will take place at Farleigh Golf Club in Warlingham and our charity is MacMillan Cancer Support - a charity close to our hearts in the Prep School.

We would like to invite as many people as possible to attend, so if you are not a golfer, you will be more than welcome to attend the dinner and raffle prize draw afterwards.  Hopefully this will encourage families and friends to all come together to support this fantastic cause.

If you are interested in being a part of the day, please can you fill out the feasibility form attached here.  There is no obligation to take part once you have completed this form, but it is important for me to gain initial numbers.

Any questions, please contact Mr Woodward (awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org).
