3rd Annual Radnor House Golf Day - Sunday 14th June 2020.

Places are filling up fast for this year's Charity Golf Day on Sunday 14th June 2020. This year's event will take place at Farleigh Golf Club in Warlingham. This year's charity is MacMillan Cancer Support - a charity close to our hearts in the Prep School.

This year, we are inviting as many people as possible to attend, so if you are not a golfer, you will be still more than welcome to attend the dinner and raffle prize draw afterwards. Hopefully this will encourage families and friends to all come together to support this fantastic cause. We can cater for 104 golfers this year and and extra 46 for dinner afterwards.

If you are interested in being a part of the day, please can you fill out the feasibility form attached here. There is no obligation to take part once you have completed this form but it is important for me to gain an idea on initial numbers.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr Woodward (awoodward@radnor-sevenoaks.org).

Careers Networking Evening - Thursday 5 March

We are delighted to let you know that as part of our Careers Programme we will be holding our annual Careers & Networking Evening for all Year 10, 11 and 12 pupils on the evening of Thursday 5 March. This is a great opportunity for pupils at this stage of their lives to consider possible future careers and be increasingly aware of possible opportunities and pathways. We have invited over 20 professionals who have come from a variety of careers to talk to the pupils about their experiences and provide advice and guidance for the future. In some cases, this maybe specific to particular fields but for many this may also be general advice about 'next steps' and future possibilities.

This evening is designed to support the pupils' consideration of careers in their PSHEE sessions, the use of 'Fast Tomato' in Year 9, 'My Future Choice' questionnaires & interviews in Year 10 & 11, and the use of UCAS and Unifrog in the Sixth Form to help them focus their possible career choices. Furthermore, pupils also get work experience at the end of both Year 11 and Year 12 and pupils may get a work experience placement from this evening!

We expect all pupils to attend this useful and important evening - so please contact the school if your son/daughter is unable to attend.

Thank you to all the parents who have already volunteered to come and support our Careers & Network Evening on Thursday 5 March. However, we still need more!

If you are available and willing to give two hours of your time to help give some advice and guidance to our pupils & help them develop a sense of the 'world of work' please contact Emma Hanrott at ehanrott@radnor-sevenoaks.org.

Our Year 11s and Year 12s are also going to be enjoying a week of work experience on the week beginning Monday 22 June. If you or your business are willing to offer a work experience placement for that week could you also let Emma Hanrott know and she will pass it on to our Head of Careers, Mrs Read.

Many thanks, David Leddington (Head of Sixth Form) & Patricia Read (Head of Careers)

Year 13 News

Mock Examinations

Year 13 students will have their mock examinations during the week commencing Monday 24 February, directly as we return from the half term break.  These exams are crucial in monitoring and assessing students’ current grades in their A Levels and in helping them to understand how to progress for the summer final examinations.  Exam conditions will be as close as possible to the actual A Levels.  Please ensure, therefore, that your son/daughter prepares thoroughly for these exams and comes fully equipped with a transparent pencil case, black pens and any other equipment that is required for a specific subject.  A water bottle may be brought, but all labels must be removed.  Sixth form uniform should be worn.

There will be no lessons and pupils have permission to revise at home if they do not have an exam on a particular morning or afternoon.  Alternatively they may revise in the school library or study room in the main school building, but it is imperative that they sign in and out at Reception.

Students will receive their results on Wednesday 11 March at break time, in exactly the same way as they will receive their final results in August.

Students have been given their exam timetable and a copy is on the website for your information along with the school examination procedures please click here and candidate JCQ exam information with which your child should be familiar can be found here.  Revision over the coming few weeks will be vital for success in these examinations, and I thank you for supporting your son or daughter with their studies during this time.
