Make a Difference Day - Wednesday 2 October
Please see the attached letter along with the attached brochure, which details all of the Make A Difference Day sites, and then make your top 3 choices, (where relevant), via this Microsoft Form link, which will open at 6pm on Friday 20 September and close at 6pm on Monday 23 September. Where pupils have a choice we will endeavour to place them in their preferred options, but we are limited to the number of pupils each site has requested, so please also consider the 2nd and 3rd choices carefully.
We have had a number of cases recently where pupils have left valuables in their lockers, but have then not locked them. Please could you reinforce the need to do so.
Please read the guidance given in the Pupil Notebook regarding haircuts. There should be no 'extreme' haircuts (e.g. tramlines, undercuts, mohicans etc). In terms of length, a good guide would be to have hair at least a No. 2 or 1.5 long, faded in.
Thanks for your support with this.
Parental Control: Monitoring Pupil devices at home
There are now a number of apps and software providers that can help parents take back control and guide their child's internet use.
Many of the apps provide additional options to basic web filtering, most enable parents to set time limits on browsing, remotely lock devices and receive alerts for when a child types/searches for sensitive/inappropriate content. Apps that we are aware of:
Family Link app - works on Android devices: click here
Qustodio - works on Apple and Android devices: click here
Our Pact - works on Apple and Android devices: click here
Music Department News
Please note that there are no singing lessons timetabled next week.
We have our first musical soirée of the year after school on Wednesday 9 October. Pupils are encouraged to come and try out a piece that they have been working on in front of parents and friends. Please contact Mrs Fishwick at firstname.lastname@example.org with the title and composer of your piece by Friday 4 October.
Performing Arts Timetables
The Performing Arts Timetables are available here. Please check regularly as times and occasionally days are subject to change. Timetables are also displayed on the notice boards in the Performing Arts Centre and outside the Prep School Music classroom. The peripatetic staff do their best to look for clashes with trips, fixtures and talks, but if any of your child's lessons are scheduled for the same time as events of this nature, please inform the relevant peripatetic teacher so that lessons can be rearranged in good time.
Please check the timetables and if you do not see your child's name please let us know at email@example.com.
Roald Dahl Day
Thanks to everyone who voted for their favourite Roald Dahl Book during Roald Dahl day. Over 160 votes were cast across the whole school. Radnor House Sevenoaks’ favourite Roald Dahl Book is: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Matilda was 2nd and The Twits came in 3rd.
