Sport Scholarships

Radnor House offers a three-tiered sport scholarship programme to provide bespoke athlete development plans which will challenge our outstanding athletes to reach their full potential in sport. Scholarships are awarded to pupils, both internal and external, at Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12.

The school’s focus sports are hockey, football, cricket and swimming, however performance levels in all sports will be considered for the sport scholarship. The school offers sports programmes with fixtures in the following additional sports: rugby, netball, basketball, athletics, cross country and tennis.

The three-tier system (bronze, silver, gold) supports pupils to develop as sportspersons and athletes throughout their time at school. Our Directors of sport have vast experience coaching and performing at elite levels which allows them to provide advanced level technical, tactical coaching and mentoring to our aspiring athletes.

Non Focus Sports

We will award scholarships and support pupils who are high level and elite in sports that are not our focus sports on an individual basis.  Please note we are unable to offer small group or technical sessions in sports outside our focus.

Details on the application deadline and assessment dates can be found here.

The application process is as follows:

1)            Pupils who wish to apply should complete the  Sport Scholarship Application Form.

2)            Prior to their scholarship interview, candidates will be asked to attend the Sport Scholarship Assessment Day where they will participate in a series of sports assessments based around their chosen sport.  The assessments will also include tests of speed, cardiovascular endurance, agility and power.  There will also be assessments on the candidates “coachability”. Further details of specific requirements will be sent once we have received the scholarship application.
