Values Scholarship

Values Scholarships are designed to recognise those pupils who meet the normal entrance criteria of the school and show considerable commitment to the school’s values in a range of areas.

Holders of the Values Scholarship will participate fully in the curricular and co-curricular life of Radnor House Sevenoaks and be role models for the wider school community.

Values Scholarships will be awarded to internal and external candidates at the school's discretion and, from January 2024, pupils do not apply for the award.

The Values Scholarship is worth between 5 and 20% of the tuition fees and will be awarded to those candidates who demonstrate good all-round performance and potential in the entrance assessments.

Scholarships will be reassessed annually, and their continuance is subject to the successful candidate exhibiting satisfactory commitment and attitude towards their own progress.

Values Scholars will be enrolled in a programme which will include, but is not exclusive to:

    • Working alongside House Captains to run 'Values Assemblies'. These will involve promoting a certain value and providing external examples of these values and then ways in which each value can be achieved at Radnor House.

    • Organising and running school charity events, such as MAD Day (Make a Difference Day) and other events over the course of the year. This will provide leadership opportunities for Sixth Formers who will help to manage the scholars and will delegate tasks to them.

    • Values scholars will help to run school council to provide them with responsibility.

    • Having regular meetings with a mentor throughout their time on the Values Scholarship programme to ensure they are making the most of the opportunities available to them.

Expectations of a Values Scholar

All Values Scholars are expected to part in at least 2 co-curricular clubs, one of which is Academic.

Scholarships will be reassessed annually, and their continuance is subject on the successful candidate exhibiting satisfactory commitment and attitude towards their own progress.
