Round Square

Radnor House Sevenoaks is delighted to be a member of Round Square, an international network of 230 like-minded schools with an approach to education based around six themes or IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, Service.

Today’s students are the next generation of business, political and community leaders: It is our responsibility to shape the way in which they understand, prepare for, and respond to the world’s challenges both now and in the future… And this needs a change in the perception of the value of character education and values-based learning throughout our education systems.

Ultimately we want our students to understand that whatever field of work or career they enter into, with a spirit of the Round Square IDEALS they can – and should – make a positive difference in the world.

Tom Scott, Director of Global Education,  says: "Radnor House Sevenoaks is developing cross-curricular learning of other countries and cultures, so it permeates throughout a student’s education and builds a sense of global identity and belonging.  Our school is committed to students engaging in democracy, with students voting on school policy and running campaigns which supports both leadership and collaboration. Leadership is further developed through initiatives such as MADD Day and Community Service. We promote a high degree of environmental awareness through everyday classroom topics and co-curricular clubs. A mindset of adventure is grown through regular outdoor expeditions running across our School.

Being a Round Square school has brought a palpable sense of excitement to school life. The potential to be part of a supportive global community is a unique opportunity. The possibility of understanding the world around us and growing our mindsets is one we truly relish. We believe that Round Square membership is an excellent step in developing truly global students."
