Ski Trip

Tom Green, PE and Games Teacher and Assistant Head of Co-Curricular (trip organiser and leader) writes:

With Radnor breaking up for Easter, a grand total of 75 pupils and 9 staff headed out to Gressoney la Trinite, Italy for the first ski trip in 4 years! Despite the 2am arrival time, due to a plane delay, the group hit the slopes a few hours later on Monday morning feeling excited about the Italian snow. It certainly didn't disappoint! There had been 60cm of snow the previous week, the scenery in the Aosta Valley was absolutely mesmerising and the conditions were ideal, whether you were a beginner, intermediate or advanced skier. The progress throughout the week, particularly from our novice skiers, was impressive, with everyone advancing from snowplough to parallels and beyond. Having skied several sessions with the top-level groups, I can report that Radnor has some serious fast and technical skiers who carved their way beautifully around the Aosta Valley with aplomb! It was a joy just to cling on at the back!

The evening activities were equally fun with the group being entertained by Harry's Quiz (GB Sports Tour Rep), Movie Night, 5aside Football, Swimming, Gym and Bouldering at the Gressoney Sport Haus, a Pizza Night and Awards and Karaoke! We genuinely could not have fit in anymore- it was exhausting but an absolute blast!

My thanks go to the fantastic staffing team of Mrs Davey, Mrs Duncan, Mrs Robinson, Miss Stephani and Mr Puxty, Mr Morton, Mr Woodward and Mr Smith; without their help, such trips do not go ahead.

'Next year' I hear you cry! It is rather tempting....
