Inspection Report

The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) last undertook a review in April 2022 with a Focused Compliance Inspection and Educational Quality Inspection.

Focused Compliance Inspection (FCI)

During a FCI, inspectors review policies and procedures in all areas of the school, from the curriculum to health and safety, recruitment and safeguarding to leadership and governance.  The inspectors decide whether we comply with the significant statutory requirements that apply to independent day schools, known as the Independent Schools Standards Regulations.  The report states we have “met the standard” in all eight discrete areas, which is the highest possible achievement under the current inspection framework.

Educational Quality Inspection (EQI)

An EQI makes judgements in two areas – “pupils’ academic and other achievements” and “pupils’ personal development”.  Each category contains eight standards against which the performance of the school is measured.  The overall outcomes are rated as “Excellent”, “Good”, “Sound”, and “Unsatisfactory”.  The inspectors rated both the pupils’ academic and other achievements and personal development as good.  This is a strong endorsement of the significant range of investments and initiatives to promote the quality of education at Radnor House Sevenoaks.

Regulatory Compliance Inspection 2018

The Independent Schools Inspectorate ("ISI") last undertook a review in March 2018. It was a huge success, with the outcomes reflecting the quality of our processes and procedures in supporting all of our stakeholders' education and care at Radnor House Sevenoaks.

The Regulatory Compliance Inspection ("RCI") carried out by ISI covered all school sections, from the EYFS setting to Sixth Form. ISI is the agency responsible for inspecting independent schools and is a Government approved inspectorate.  Ofsted monitors the quality of its service on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).

During an RCI, inspectors do not review educational provision or management quality. As a result, the report does not contain any qualitative judgments or terms such as outstanding or exceptional. The inspectors decide whether we comply with the significant amount of legislation applying to schools, known as The Independent Schools Standards Regulations and the National Minimum Standards for Boarding.

The report states that we have 'met the standard' in all eight discrete areas, and it is important to note that it is the highest possible achievement under this current inspection framework.  There are significant requirements and regulations covering all aspects of the school,  from the curriculum to health and safety, recruitment and safeguarding to governance, and the inspectors confirmed that we were compliant in all areas.
