The concept of personalisation is not a new one in education, children should be understood as individuals rather than falling into a homogenous grouping of this class or that class.

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we believe passionately that great teaching starts with understanding the children in one’s class. Throughout the Prep children are subtly assessed to understand their unique strengths and weaknesses. Teachers take account of cognitive ability tests (CATs) and reading assessments to improve the quality of their tuition and as a result children typically feel like lessons have been personally prepared for them.

We have an outstanding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department and this is woven into the fabric of the school to ensure learning strategies are naturally articulated to teachers and taken account of when planning lessons.

Radnor House Sevenoaks operates a layered approach to SEND with the lowest level of support being provided exclusively through the classroom teacher, this is closely aligned with the latest research in this area. The middle level of support provides group support outside of lessons often in the areas of numeracy and literacy. The top level of support caters for those children who require individual support, often with dyslexic tutors or specialists in other forms of SEND.  For more details on the additional fees for SEND support at Radnor House Sevenoaks please click here.
